After the run we are on, and all the games in hand other teams have on us, would you take 4th now? The other teams have to play each-other, so will take points off each-other. I said at the start of the season mid-table would do me, but honestly, I don't know if someone offered me 4th now id take it.

I'd definitely take it - I'd snap your hand off for 7th too.
Quality wise I don't think we're a top 7 side (our defence is), but our togetherness/spirit/belief/work ethic wins us games that other sides wouldn't win IMO.
Top 7 would be a brilliant season for us I think, but I don't think top 3 is out of our reach by any means.

Yes. Some very strong teams in this league this year. Seems like the club's that probably should be higher are finally getting their act together. After the last few seasons a playoff place would be a great achievement.

Is that even a question? Of course I'd take it.

At the start of the season, I think most of us would thino the same as you. Mid-table security would be very nice thank you.
It may all collapse, but given the form that we are in and the fact that we have caught up ground on all of the top 3, I wouldn't take fourth as there is a fighting chance of a top 3 place.

No I wouldn't. Not now. I would have before Xmas but after the last 2 games and our current form we should be ready for one of the 3 above us to collapse. If we fail to make top 7 then so be it but we are capable of keeping up enough momentum to break top 3 by May imo.

The reason I ask is because of our form. Our Last promotion out of this league, the final 10 games I felt we could have played anyone, and beat them. This season is starting to feel the same. I'm not saying were going to win every game, but the fealing I'm getting from this team us the same as previously.

We can catch Oxford, and I think they would do well at Wembley versus Portsmouth (Oxford that is)

Before the season...Yes.
Now...No.
I genuinely can't see us outside the top 7 come the end of the season, I think we are too consistent for that and I rate DC enough to be capable of achieving that. I think the top 5 or 6 could end up pulling away.

If we'd been top and had plummeted, like Leyton Orient, then I'd settle for 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th. But we seem to be getting stronger as the season goes on, albeit with a hiccup here and there. I think we have a real chance of third place.

I think we have a real chance of third place. We do. DC is the first manager I have felt like anything is possible under. I really do. We could hold our own in league one under him. He is the best thing to ever happen to this football club. He impressed me the first time I seen him to be honest and I've always been a fan of his but even I couldn't envisage how well he would do with us. I just wish we could get this stadium or major investment as he really could be another Eddie Howe!

Still a very long way to go but can see Northampton not staying the distance so why not automatic promotion maybe even second or first

If you turned everyone's games in hand into points we'd still be 6th, none of them will take maximum points from their games in hand I bet, and they'll drop points between the times they play them as well, as long as there's a chance of automatic (which there is) I would not take fourth place, if we happen to finish there then so be it

I'd gamble on getting 3rd. I think if we end up in the play-offs we wont be strong enough against an in-form Leyton Orient.
Also, we played a lot of the top teams in our first 10 games or so. We were mid-tableish and most of us thought that was our level. Since then we've been really strong and pushed right up there.
We need to get through this flurry of games against top teams unscathed. Then we're going to be on fire for the last quarter ready to capitalise on any slip-ups from the teams above us.

we will finish in the top 7 no doubt about it, but it wont be anywhere near as easy as last season to make the final at Wembley. so if we can make that 3rd spot, then we can all enjoy the end of the season in style without the lottery of play offs. we just need to pick up 3 points where expected now....we have done well to pick up 4 points from two top clubs.

Just for comparison, this time last year we were 3rd in the Conference table, 8 points behind Barnet. OK, we ultimately just failed to overhaul them, but we are only 4 behind Oxford, 9 behind Plymouth and 11 behind Northampton.
One thing that last season taught us is how it is always useful to aim upwards, rather than worry about those behind. One of the 3 above us might start to slip and Rovers could be there to take their place.

Their squad looks really strong and they're on a great run. As for us, if we can get a good return from the next few tough games then I don't see any reason why we can't get a top 3 spot as we have a lot of teams in the bottom half in the last two months. I'll be more than happy though it we do end up 4th, and I'd fancy our chances against anyone in the playoffs!
