Don't bit my head off now, but did anyone get the impression that he seemed a bit cheesed off. He was his usual honest self but something didn't sit right with me.

Yes. Hopefully once they have discussed budgets and potential targets he will chirp up a bit! I think it was more of his usual down to Earth way of never getting over excited when things go well and never going over the top when things go badly.
If he can reassure his players and staff that they can carry on as normal without worrying about getting the chop for more expensive replacements then hopefully all will be rosy.

I guess he's worried about his future as if the new owners are as rich as they seem they could appoint virtually any manager they wanted to, perhaps he's also cheesed off NH didn't keep him in the picture? Although even by his standards he did seem to over react a bit to the question.

I took it as him being cheesed off with NH and co for keeping it under wraps to be honest. I'm sure he would have liked to meet the new owner/chairman for reassurances/planning, but I think that will be done next week going by what Al-Qadi was saying.

Yeah. istm If we'd lost, he would have said it didn't affect them at all, and it's their job to get on with it, anyway. But coz we won he felt able to mention it.

He looks completely drained in the video. Surely can't be the news of the takeover troubling him after the encouraging words from Al Qadi? Wonder what's up?

I think he was just protecting himself and his players. It was almost a message to the board to say look: it's all well and good you coming in but don't put me or my staff out of jobs. Even if they keep him, if they want to invest in the team now then current players could be under threat. If Higgs' really didn't keep him in the picture then that is p**s poor as DC has done a lot for our club.

He doesn't need to know imo. It might have fallen through at the last minute..then what? DC is getting paid to manage the playing staff, not get concerned with Boardroom business.

Not saying our owners will give DC a blank cheque book but he's never worked at a club with money. Would imagine he's anxious to see what happens.
Just hope we don't revert to the 3 year contracts on silly money

He was not happy, but would you be in his position? The manager of the team, the thing that brings money into the club. Merchandising, hospitality etc is always linked to on field activities. He is the man at the top. Both parties new and old should have spoken to him before Friday, so he could put staff and the team at rest.

Thought DC said they spent half hour chatting? Or maybe that was Wael on Twentyman... Nice game of golf together next week will hopefully settle Darrel's nerves. Assuming either of them play, if not a walk along Severn beach?

New ownership has changed the dynamic completely with regards to DC. A love in with a new owner ups the pressure, we have no bad guy to blame currently and what funds DC is given will come with more expectation. From previously working on a ( relatively ) small budget he had designs on getting us to league 1 playoffs, many will now be ( rightly or wrongly ) expecting more. Hugely different than what he signed up for. My hope is a good working relationship to ease any fears and that DC gets to stay in charge wherever we're heading.

Before Friday, expectations were mid table div 2 this season. Alright we hoped, nobody really believed 2 promotions back to back was doable. Now he has a boss who is expecting league 1 or championship. I hope DC is up for the challenge but bet he needs to swallow hard a few times

I think DC was watered off because it happened on a Friday before a game and it made it difficult to focus on the game against Morecambe and the fact that he didn't know anything definite until we all knew. Just MO
