If we were still in League 2 then I would of said no chance but now we've got promoted I have a lot more hope that he might sign on.
We're a club on the up with new owners, more financial clout, prospects of a new stadium and training facilities and are riding a wave of momentum with back to back promotions. Add that to the fact that Clarke has always shown faith with him and helped him to progress to the player he is today, plus here he's the star striker in a settled squad full of confidence.
There are loads of reasons to suggest he might stay and imo there's only a couple teams in league one next year that might tempt him to leave.
If a championship team takes a punt on him however, I feel he'll be gone in a shot.

Bristol City Evening Post is full of sh**. This is the same paper that reported there was no take over. People should know better by now than to read that shitehawk of a paper. They get half their stories off here anyway. So does that mean half of what's on here is sh** as well then?

Whatever he does, I wish him well, he owes us nothing and we owe him quite a lot
If he goes, hope he comes back better in his twilight and gives us a season back where it all began

The only way I can see him staying is if we agree that come Christmas we are not top 6 or something similar, we will listen to all offers from other clubs. Otherwise, he's gone. Can't blame him, would be a kick in the teeth as we have developed him and given him that second chance that he wanted.
It's all up to Darrell now.

Not sure on this one, on the one hand I do think that he'll be loyal to DC for what he's done with him and also for the direction the club is moving in, for once we are an attractive prospect to players for other reasons(new stadium, ne training facilities all coming) than just relatively big wages compared to other clubs of a similar size like in the bad old days.
But on the other hand if someone of a decent size comes in offering 4x what he's been earning this season I think he could leave but a lot will also depend on what teams they are, I know it's only agent talk and page filler but out of the few names I've seen him being linked to I would say he'd stay with us rather than move to a couple of them and a couple where I think he'd probably go.
I knew there was talk of Hearts before but I didn't know he'd been flown up there and had a look around.

If I were his agent I would say you are 26 it ain't going to get much if any better take the biggest offer if you bench warm thats their problem, if you want to earn decent money and be happy stay put. thats the choices I reckon

If he is offered more money why wouldn't he go.
As other poster said he doesnt owe us anything, it is a short career and if he gets chance to earn substantial cash take it, I would.
We survived Penny, Stewart, Hayles etc going without necessarily re-investing the cash. We should now have that cash to replace him with a proven goalscorer.
I would be sorry to see him go, be thankful for his efforts and wish him well.

A lot of wishful thinking on here. There's very little chance he'll stay in my opinion. If and when he goes I just hope it's sooner rather than later to maximise DC's time for replacement(s). I wish him well but feel a bit sore that he couldn't do a Ricky Lambert to secure us a transfer fee.

Of the rumoured clubs linked with him I'd go to Celtic and I'd go to Hull if they go up.
Other than that I'd stay put.

I wouldn't believe for one second Matty refused to sign anything IF asked. And if any pre contract was signed as rumoured, that was surely agreed by all parties? No need for any unfounded bad blood towards the man.

How could Higgs sort anything out, firstly, he was looking to sell the club, secondly, if he hadn't sold it we'd probably let the entire squad leave in order to try and stop going into Admin once we had to pay Sainsburys legal costs/repay the Wonga loan.
I just hope this saga doesn't drag on all summer but DC sits down with MT's agent soon and either agrees a new deal or announces a deal can't be agreed. I can't honestly see a Championship club offering MT big money so it seems to be we just need to match whatever any other Div 1 side can offer MT.

I'm sure he will go to a championship side (or Celtic). He has been very non commital. Proven championship strikers are worth a fortune now so for a slighter smaller championship club he is worth the gamble on a free. Andre Gray was £9m and whilst I don't think Taylor is anywhere near as good, he is certainly worth a punt at £9million less!
I also can't see Clarke wanting to pay Taylor THAT much more than the rest of the team.
