Could we get him to sign a 2 year deal and then hopefully get a fee for him? Seems gutting that he would leave but especially gutting if it is on a free! What's does Taylor gain by signing a contract, he's on a free now but if he signs a contract we'd probably demand a £250K+ transfer fee? That makes him an attractive signing to another team as instead of paying a transfer fee plus wages they only have to pay him the latter. I know he wouldn't gain much out of it if he wants to leave, but it would help us, the club who gave him a deal when FGR cut him loose. Of course I'd understand if he didn't want to sign a new deal, I wouldn't begrudge him a big move to further his career. It would just be a bitter pill to swallow if he went onto great things and when didn't get anything out of it.

Either way if he leaves We got 49 goals and 2 promotions out of him, that's better than money

Why would he sign a contract if he wanted to go elsewhere, any decent agent will play on his free availability and instead of a transfer fee a larger signing on fee would be applicable. If he's going elsewhere he will be in it for what he can get.

That's purely NH's, and possibly DC's, fault for not tieing into a decent contract before Christmas.

MT was probably one of the few who warranted a longer contract.

But if Taylor's a free agent then he probably gets a bigger signing on fee . That says a lot about lambert. Top bloke had our club at heart and we'll alwys remember and appreciate that, sell on fees might well have made the difference to us staying solvent . UTG and Lambert is a legend.

Whilst talking about signing on fees it's worth noting that all our existing squad who accept the new contract offers, will also get a signing on fee. Apparently that's how it works!
