Not really a surprise from the Red side of Bristol. We'll pay for the schools and hospitals.

More......... "Bristol City F.C. company accounts show that the club is immediately owned by Bristol City Holdings Ltd which is registered in England. Guernsey registered, Pula Sport Ltd, then owns Bristol City Holdings Ltd, Bristol Rugby Club and Bristol Flyers. Another Guernsey company, Pula Limited (without the Sport in the middle), controls Pula Sport Limited. Indeed, Bristol City F.C company accounts declare Lansdown as the majority shareholder of Pula Limited. Yet the web unravels further. The Panama papers show that Pula Limited was set up by Guernsey based Sustainable Technology Investments Ltd. which is also owned by Lansdown. This makes it appear that it, not Pula Ltd, is ultimately in control of Bristol City F.C., Bristol Rugby club and Bristol Flyers. This information is not listed on any of the three company accounts." Bristol City F.C, Rugby Club and Flyers are owned by billionaire Stephen Lansdown through a web of offshore companies

I'm sure there will be a load of Gas on here in a minute to defend him to the hilt. Coz standing up for the right to pay as little tax as possible is one of the few issues that transcends local sports rivalry, for some reason.

and where is the actual real evidence of Tax Avoidance/evasion?
I trust we will be following any flow of money to/from Bristol Rovers via Jersey?

Don't get me wrong as I'm one of those who say pay as little as you can, but only legally. If someone is using the rules (laws) that have been designed and implemented by the politicians, then good luck to them. You should never just sit back and let politicians take (steal) what they want from you. They should have to justify every single penny they take (steal) from you. If they cannot be arsed to formulate a simple set of rules (laws), then that is their problem. In the UK, if you earn a decent wage, then take into account Income Tax, National Insurance, VAT on practically everything, and every other tax you can think of, then the government are probably taking well over 50% of your earnings. That cannot be right.

something like this?
You have to wonder what's actually sustainable and technological about the investment in BCFC.

But well done for running to his defence so quickly. As to the question of tax avoidance, there are people out there who are far far more knowledgeable regarding International Tax laws etc than anyone on here. It's pretty safe to assume that there is some measure of tax avoidance going on, otherwise, just what would be the benefit of setting up these complex arrangements? Nothing wrong with tax avoidance by the way.

The trouble is people (deliberately?) mix up evasion and avoidance. It's like mixing up earning a wage and mugging someone.

They really are the gift that keeps giving! Well, you have to be careful as I suggest that the legal structure of Rovers could well look similar? It's the way of the world.

I don't need to defend him as there is no evidence of anything other than a number of companies being set up, although plenty of people have been quick to jump in and attack Lansdown
Of course not much different to Bristol Rovers FC owned by 1883 Ltd, owned by Dwane Sports in Jersey. Dig deep enough and you can probably find all sorts

So why are you going on about that then, if it's not to defend him? Why say there's no evidence against Lansdown and then cast aspersions against Dwane?

Not casting aspersions on Dwane Sports. Just highlighting we are owned in a similar fashion by holding companies as Nobby suggests above
I have seen plenty of people wading in on facebook on Tax dodger Lansdown etc, etc. Ask anyone how BRFC is owned could they actually tell you?

More obsessing about them. I'd quite happily forget all about them until we're going past them as they drop down to league 1 next year.

Not casting aspersions on Dwane Sports. You said, dig deep enough and you can probably find all sorts. Wtf is that supposed to mean, then, in this context? I just find it weird how on this subject, and it's pretty much the only one I can think of, people forget the local rivalry and run to defend SL at the first opportunity, as if it's illegal to banter about tax. Since when has diligent research and impeccable proof been a requisite to take the water out of the sh1te? I mean, what's next? 'You know, I have investigated the situation, and after taking soil samples and doing a few rudimentary sniff tests I must conclude that in all probability Ashton Gate isn't necessarily entirely full of sh**.'

Let's assume he is doing something wrong. Why not? If it was us, those c0cks would be having a field day. It's likely that SL will have his sh1t sorted but that doesn't mean we have to stick up for the bloke.
Their owner is a monopolising tax dodging turncoat.

You need to double check your tests, because I can assure you that trashton is indeed, without a shadow of a doubt, full of sh1te.
