I have it on good authority that he wasn't actually shopping, like most Bristolian men he was only there to pay for it and carry it to the car

Bristolian goes shopping in a store outside Bristol...Wow he's described by wiki as:
"a native of kingswood"
which always makes me chuckle

Can I hijack this thread by saying, if DC leaves, Ollie wild genuinely be my first choice as replacement.

Kingsweston derived from the King's western lands, which stretched all the way down to, wait for it, Weston. That king certainly got around.

I make it twice as a player and once as a manager. What makes it even worse is that he's a badge-kissing "professional" Bristolian who gert loves 'is Rowverzzz from the bottom of 'is 'eart, until a better offer comes along. Bobby Gould was as bad when it came to jumping ship, but at least he was honest about it.

Question for those who would genuinely want Holloway in the event of DC leaving.. (and there are a considerable number)
If Holloway wasn't ex-Bristol Rovers, would you want him? Based on his recent record etc.

I don't know much about the first time he left, but I'm pretty sure we sold him to Wimbledon because we needed the money. The 2nd time he was sold he had the opportunity to play in the top flight, why would you begrudge him that? And as manager he was sacked, he didn't walk away into another job. If we would of stayed with Ollie, I don't know whether we would of stayed up in hindsight, but I'm pretty certain he would of got us back at the first attempt, instead we opted for Gary Thompson, Gerry Francis(2nd time round), Phil Bater and Ray Graydon who were disasters. Holloway's record in getting clubs promoted is pretty good. He's done it at Q.P.R, Blackpool and Palace. Whether he would be a good appointment if DC leaves, is hard to answer though.

Didn't we sack him previously?
I think anyone who replaces DC would need to be capable of continuing the almost 'crazy gang' spirit that DC has created. Holloway has the potential to do that.

Holloway's record in getting clubs promoted is pretty good. He's done it at Q.P.R, Blackpool and Palace. Whether he would be a good appointment if DC leaves, is hard to answer though. He refused a new contract with us first time around and got a move to Wimbledon. He had health issues, was dropped, loaned out. GF paid his own money to bring him back to Rovers where he made his name. Fair enough if he had an opportunity to better himself but I would rather players acted professionally rather than all this badge-kissing, grandstanding nonsense. When he came back as manager as we know, it all started to go wrong about the 4th season?. The then chairman Geoff Dunford said, on the telly, that Holloway asked to be sacked. That way he got compo and then miraculously got the QPR job. For someone so besotted with the Gas he didn't hesitate when Plymouth manager to hijack our intent to sign Easter, and when at Millwall he stood in Easters way when DC wanted to loan him. He kept him there in the reserves. he has made his name by playing the professional Bristolian, all exaggerated accent and playing the lovable lad. He reminds me of Jimmy Tarbuck and Cilla in that regard, they both traded off their Liverpool roots. As one Scouser said to me "No Scouser has ever said Lorra Lorra Laffs"

Its taken us 15 years to recover from his miss-management and yet people would want him back as manager?
The mind boggles.

Mis-management? Making the club millions by bringing in unproven strikers and selling them for massive profit. I would be looking more at the board at the time rather than Holloway.
