Some tarpaulin and a bit of bungie should do it. I've got a pop up Gazeebo the club can borrow. On one condition, Matty Taylor stays. Sounds like a deal, im sure the club will be getting in contact with your advisers shortly.

Should we really be spending money on the Mem IF we are getting a new stadium soon? Is there a problem or big delay anticipated?

Bringing back the Guinness Stand is hardly going to cost a lot of money and we're clearly stuck at the Mem for another 2 or 3 years. The alternative is to stick with the present 11,000 capacity and potential turn fans, & their money, away. Plus if we can attract another 1,000 or more extra fans now they'll, hopefully, stick with us when we move.

Yes when i hear talk of work being done to the mem it does make me nervous about the uwe going forward. Apart from Hamer media speak we have heard nothing concrete since the takeover. I do hope we can break ground by xmas as the momentum the club currently has needs to be maintained.

We could do with increased seating straight away though. I need to sit, can't make enough games for a season ticket and I suspect I will struggle to get a seat next season. There must be others like me. i got a season tkt in west stand if you can't get a ticket sitting down and you really need to sit then buy me a tkt in the blackthorn end and you can have mine in the west;) don't mind swapping for a few games Thanks a lot mate. I will take you up on that if I need to.

Sounds like a disabled seating area for away fans next to the south stand might be an idea.Im sure an adaption to the away side could happen with a raised platform and access ramp ?

Of all the things in life to miss, cheap beer, only fools & horses the list goes on, there's nothing I miss more than that beautiful little green pop up to the right of the south stand.
I do wonder with almost all the seats gone already next season if there are plans for a return?
Also I don't know if it's just my memory getting worse and worse, but did the south stand use to be a little bit bigger than it is now? I keep thinking at the start of the decade it was, I wonder if we could fill that space and get more seats and people behind the goal?

Many years ago when the plans for the revamped 18,000 memorial stadium got planning......I gloomily predicted that Bristol city would be kicking a ball in a shiny new stadium before even a brick was laid for rovers. At the time city didn't even have rumours of new stadiums or rebuilds. I hate when I'm right sometimes.

Every year that we stay at the Mem the more I want us to stay and redevelop. Football isn't just about the match it's about the whole day and our situation on the Gloucester Rd is one of if not the best situation socially for any club in the country.
UWE will be the opposite and if any of you think it'd be better for parking you are going to be in for a big shock when you're stuck in a queue to get on the ring road an hour after the end of the game.

Strange you mention parking. There will be a residents parking scheme in operation if we remain and we will not be able to park within about 2 miles of the stadium. How do you suppose the older supporters will deal with that? How will we develop the tent end into a permanent structure when a huge retaining wall would have to be put in to hold the weight of any structure above ground? You got it, you take away the garden behind it. Perhaps the current owner may not be too happy about that. Then there is the issue of loss of light as well. I could go on, but this has been argued to the n th degree on here enough times. It is so obvious we have to move.

I thought Ferguson was defeated over his hated of the car surely his replacement can't be worse re the residents parking zones? As far as redeveloping the Mem surely plans have already been approved for that over comeing the retainimg wall problems etc? However, if we are going to progress to being a Championship/Premiership side an 18,000 capacity stadium at the Mem is never going to meet our needs, however good the location appears?

You will probably find who ever is in the council or mayor will be under pressure to meet air quality targets ,congestion targets and parking solution issues. Failing to meet targets may mean less funding from the EU or UK government. Bristol gained 40,000 extra residents between 2001 and 2012 that rise is likely to continue.More shops and houses get converted to flats ,that's more residents but the same size frontage.Parking is an issue for "Victorian" Bristol less so on the council estates and the suburbs.People who live near shops or sports stadiums expect parking to be bad at times and adapt. Doubling the memorial stadium capacity and car users will cause parking issues and double congestion. The Muller road experience is slow enough without adding a few thousand extra cars on there ! A new stadium with REAL stadium public transport is the future.

I was at the mem 2 weeks ago and there was a skip full of rubbish outside the bottom Dri build bar. Maybe sprucing up one or both bars.
