Essential part of our conference team but was poor before that and didn't really excel this year. Still young so plenty of time to develop, slightly sad it's not with us. But he has to get game time, and don't think he would in league 1 BRFC. Good luck mate!

Whether he's good enough for League One or not is debatable either way but what's important is that he stayed with us when we needed him the most. He was excellent in our season in the Conference.
Good luck Tommy Parkes.

Would think about a young Championship or Premiership player looking for games on a season long loan. That's exactly what we don't want. If we get a season long loan in, it means next season we will be looking for two central defenders. Lets get and develop our own. This season a new one will have Macca to advise him. Next season he won't. If we want a loanee, then we should sign two on, one of ours and one on loan.

Thanks mate and will miss meeting your parents before every game for a beer,Telford,Nuneaton etc they were always there. No you won't. Peter just rang me to say he is now a Gashead, and will be here as often as he can be, ( subject to certain driving issues). He is also going to Sabadell, so if you are there you will see him. He is also hopeful of seeing a friendly or two, but won't be here for Swansea, as that is the day he flies out to Spain. I asked him why Tom decided to move on. He said purely because they offered him a two year deal but we only offered one.

If Kilgour fulfils the promise the coaching staff have seen in him (and they were right about Tom Lockyer) then he can soften the blow of losing Parkes by getting eased into the squad with the odd few minutes game time like TL did in his first season and hopefully progress on from there. At least he can see that if he does develop into a quality player he will get games.

He could be? Depends on how he introduces and asserts himself at his new club. He was pretty young when he joined us so it can be difficult to reinvent yourself or develop your image if the same characters are around. He has a chance to go there and be a leader for sure. A decent lower league defender, far from perfect obviously. Will need to play alongside a player who stays back and/or has some pace. Best of luck to him in his new challenge. John Ward made him captain at the age of 21 at end of 12/13 season I think. Lost it at beginning of relegation season when he came back overweight. Did have leadership ability but once Macca and Manse in the team they were better leaders. Good luck to him at Orient, he stayed with us at our lowest point and has 2 promotions on his cv and not many Rovers players can say that. 190 games in 4 years is a very good stat at age of 24. If, in the summer of 14 someone had said Tom P would leave after helping Rovers get 2 promotions we would all have said thanks Tom and thought that was impossible. But that's what he helped us do. Thanks Tom and good luck and if he ever plays at the Mem against us I hope we will all give him a great reception.

As soon as I saw her joined orient on a two year deal that was enough for me. A little sad, had him on our table when we did the last valentines ball and he was good fun despite bein sober! Was brutally honest about what he's done wrong and how he knew he needed to sort himself out. Good Luck Tom.

Sad to see him go as he was with us pretty for most of our recent struggles and was one of the guys who got us back up. He's at an age though where he needs regular football so if DC couldn't offer him guaranteed games then I can see why he went.
Good luck Parksey and thanks for all you've done for us!

Good move for everyone involved I think, thought we would be needing a new CB to play alongside Locks, now this frees up a spot perfectly, if we can get the right signing, then our defence will be pretty much sorted and easily good enough for league 1.

Good luck to him, and will be fondly remembered.
I suspect both sides will be happy, and I am as well.
Had a strong suspicion he'd go (and wrote it on here somewhere).
Seemed pretty out of sorts this season, especially towards the end. Losing his place in the side. Not improving. Gone back to looking heavy. No goals. Believed to be one of the high earners.
TBH he was going backwards in nearly all aspects of the game, so a step up to Lge 1 was hardly looking on the cards. I know he's still young but really not shown himself to be a leader (JW made him capt to stop his discipline issues, and that side of it worked well), and seemed slightly unhappy when I once asked him about being captain again one day.
DC seems to prefer super-fit guys who are improving and have a footballing brain.
