Good luck to him . Wasn't getting much game time as the season went on and I expect us to sign at least one centre back , so it's probably best he moves on.

Disappointed he's moved on, bit shocked really but thanks for all you've done Parkesy and best of luck at Orient.
Surprised Macca was the one to stay tbh. Though obviously there's lots of factors involved.

Don't mind this. Parkesy was never gonna play every week. Would've been a reasonable squad player. Thanks Tom

Bit surprised its not the other way round with MM, simply because of age but in DC we trust!

I'm actually quite sad to hear this , yeah he made his fair share of mistakes but I thought he played well for most parts, still think he would have got better with time. That being said in DC we trust!

Stayed with us when we went down and has been a big part in our back to back promotions.
Best of luck to him - good move for all concerned IMO.
Will miss watching him hammer the ball at Browner from 3 yards away next season!

orient have been known to splash the cash on wages these last few years, wouldn't surprise me if this was simply down to money. dc would have offered him a contract orient probs offered a bit more and dc was probs unwilling to match it thinking we could get better for that ammount?

Would think about a young Championship or Premiership player looking for games on a season long loan.

Mixed feelings, but really he didn't kick on last season like the rest of the team did, so probably best for everyone.

Agree with most of the above. Sorry to see him go. Seemed to have a weight problem at times. Best of luck Tom.

I agree.I think parkes was offered a contact like promised, but it was less than he could get at another side at a lower level. I believe we are now looking at players that can get us to the championship over the next few years and Tom would only been abit part player next season. Parkes had lots of talent when he first joined us, but never went onto be the player he could have, but he did a good job for us during his time here and I wish him nothing but the best.

Bit gutted as he was one of our longest serving players in the current squad, and he was a solid option. That said, I feel we could do better and it's not a huge loss. Best of luck to him, thankful for all he's done for us.
As for the Orient being bigger than us comment from a ted, I'm sure Parkes would have stayed if we offered him the contract he wanted. But I'm glad we don't cave in to players demands anymore and only offer what DC believes they're worth. If that's how C*ty do things, thats where they go wrong and the player starts to think he's bigger than the club. But what do I know?

he never really pushed on last season and struggled to get anywhere near the first team for the promotion run in. think we can do alot better than parkes, good move for both partys IMO
