We have bloody good strikers in Ellis & Rory and I'm sure it won't be the end of the world if MT goes good luck to him!

With the business that has been going on I feel we are at least three possibly four decent signings apart. However I do have faith in DC so who am I to tell the manager his business.
PS.... not a great Ellis Harrison fan but hopefully this could be the season he really shines!

No mention of Matty Taylor on the Reading forum? Thats what puzzles me if this info is accurate, I would have thought there would have been something coming out of reading before now. The only reason I can think there isn't is because DC was on Honeymoon ,Taylor on holiday before that and as a courtesy all parties have waited until everyone can shake hands No disrespect to MT but if you were a Reading fan, would "Royals to sign 27 year old league 2 striker on a free" be the thing you'd be getting excited about I wonder?! He will almost certainly mean more to us than he will to the club he is going to, initially at least, which is why its not a clean cut decision for him I am sure. I'm in the "trying to get rovers to up the offer" camp, but I suspect we won't

I'd love McBurnie as a replacement.
Actually feel we may 4-5-1 next year with Gaffney and Harrison Battling it out.

Stepping up a division you would expect a club to strengthen its attack if it is to do well. Saying rovers can get by with the existing strikers (minus Taylor and mcburnie) is folly . You would ideally keep the strongest links and replace the weakest links or increase the pool of players. If MT is to leave I would imagine a couple of players have already been lined up and will be announced at the same time or just after the MT announcement. If he goes to Reading you couldn't begrudge him doing that. He will get the chance to play home games at a good stadium train at good facilities play against better teams in front of bigger crowds. He is 27...... it will be three years before rovers play in a new stadium , he may feel that he may not even get a chance to play at that stadium if he stays at rovers age 30+ . If the stadium plans had gone through as per the original dates he would have stayed at rovers for sure as that stadium would either be open already or very nearly open.

Although they've been linked with Matt Taylor over the summer, the one who presently plays for Burnley!

We've done brilliantly in the last two years but we're not going to attract or retain good players in L1, nor expect any real chance of getting into and staying in the Championship until the new stadium is built. Or building commences. Or an announcement is made that building will commence on a specific date. Or the car park is started.

Our average attendance will probably be top 6, we've an ambitious young sort after manager and seemingly wealthy owners, whilst we can't compete with Championship clubs bar an handful of L1 sides I can't see they can offer our players better prospects.

There's been confusion about these 2 - Easter and Lawrence - are they staying at Rovers ? Were they training today ? Cheers
