We have bloody good strikers in Ellis & Rory and I'm sure it won't be the end of the world if MT goes good luck to him! Bloody good for league 2 or conference but bloody good in league 1 ? I don't reckon. If Taylor leaves we need to spend the wage we offered him on another striker of same or better ability. Gaf will bully defences and Ellis will pop up with goals but I don't think the pair will score enough to keep us up.

Thats what puzzles me if this info is accurate, I would have thought there would have been something coming out of reading before now. The only reason I can think there isn't is because DC was on Honeymoon ,Taylor on holiday before that and as a courtesy all parties have waited until everyone can shake hands No disrespect to MT but if you were a Reading fan, would "Royals to sign 27 year old league 2 striker on a free" be the thing you'd be getting excited about I wonder?! He will almost certainly mean more to us than he will to the club he is going to, initially at least, which is why its not a clean cut decision for him I am sure. I'm in the "trying to get rovers to up the offer" camp, but I suspect we won't How about they put this spin on it: "Last season's highest scorer in English league football is signing for Reading."

He has a winner's mentality and I believe he will be looking at finishing as high as possible, rather than doing enough to avoid relegation. Indeed, I would not be surprised to hear him state that he will be aiming for a top 7 finish again.

Completely agree.Do not understand what we need to fear in L1 at all. There are some large names in there but that's all they are.Sheff utd, Bolton , Charlton...etc are all in our league for a reason. With the correct signings I see no reason we can't aim to get into the playoffs given our size of our club and new found wealth. But most important - DC and the current group of players.

Fed up of this. Friday was the day we were supposed to of found out, then it was today, now it is tomorrow. If he has made up his mind he needs to tell darell ASAP because we need to know the squad we are having for next year. The more this drags on, the less time we will have for a suitable replacement to come in. Its very frustrating as all the other promoted sides know where their squads are at and have made some quality additions. on another note, is the partnership with chelsea still happening as rumoured about a month ago? sounds like a yes if we are bringing in an U21 player tomorrow. Where did you get that from?

I don't have any inside info it's just that you would have thought he would have stated if he wanted to sign on or not by now

There's people on here who think he's staying. Wake the fck up. How can you not notice there's an elephant stood behind you with it's trunk up your @ss. Need to line up a replacement Rapido. A striker who can bang in 25+ goals next season can propel us towards the Championship. This is a team of winners and they have proved they can get the job done. Someone on here mentioned $6 million per season .If we can get up and stay up we are on our way to long term stability. Got a real good feeling about next season. Replacing Taylor is pivotal though, not an easy task.

Yes it certainly looks very likely he's off now, but yesterday morning for example, you could have made a reasonable case for him staying (i.e. what has no club announced the signing of him yet?). I agree it now looks very likely he's off. But "wake the fck up. How can you not notice there's an elephant stood behind you with it's trunk up your @ss." is completely unnecessary.

I honestly can't understand why MT would want to leave us anyway he is at a club which has got a promising future with proffesional owners he is a fans favourite (well most fans!) and one of the first names on the team sheet but if he thinks he can do it in a higher league and get even more money than the Gas are offering then the best of British because the grass isn't always greener and we mustn't forget the main man stayed with us and he will sort it out with or without MT UTG!!

Someone on here mentioned $6 million per season That may have been me quoting from the Burton manager on TV who said that was why he knew they could survive even with poor crowds. What he actually said was that remaining in league 1 would mean TV money of £1m. Promotion to the championship would push the TV money up to £6m per season under the new deal.

That's a decent wedge, and an obtainable goal for our long term prosperity. I'd be highly delighted to do a long stretch of mid table obscurity in the Championship. Plus you're only one spin away from hitting the fkin Jackpot.

BBC Bristol saying he is still yet to decide, not training with the team but the door is still open.
Just sign another striker now Darrell, mental stuff this.

What time do you think the announcement will happen? Seems that what BBC Bristol have said was the clarification/announcement.

I used to work at Longleat, it happens more than you'd think. The Park Ranger said it to me quite often. That and "don't let the monkeys do that to you Hugo...." I'm in Court on Friday.

Withdraw the offer now and say thank you for everything but it's time to move on and get a new striker.
