Yes we should actively be looking for a replacement now, and I hope we are. This is beginning to turn into a O Toole saga. Just as the Uwe is turning in to the Severnside saga. We are all on a bloody magic roundabout, the same things just go round and round every 5 or 25 years
....hopefully without the cringe worthy Twitter love-in!!
Chill everyone, DC is no mug and will want things sorted as much as we do. we still have 4-5 weeks to get someone in if he goes and i'd imagine DC has already got targets, probably already spoke to them as well.

"Matty didn't think it was right to come in and train with us while all the speculation continues." Speculation because of him.

No need for that. They're entitled to their opinion and, until it's announced officially, no one can know for sure. Yes it certainly looks very likely he's off now, but yesterday morning for example, you could have made a reasonable case for him staying (i.e. what has no club announced the signing of him yet?). I agree it now looks very likely he's off. But "wake the fck up. How can you not notice there's an elephant stood behind you with it's trunk up your @ss." is completely unnecessary. Noted. Apolagies, I'm just so fkin angry with the whole MT saga. I've only just "moved on" from the break up of Bananarama. Bananarama have broken up? NO, you cannot be serious

"Matty didn't think it was right to come in and train with us while all the speculation continues." Speculation because of him. Exactly. If he hadn't have been so selfish and not scored 50 goals in a 100 games we wouldn't be in this bloody mess. The git.

Could it be that Matty CANNOT train because he is no longer insured by BRFC? Non-contracted players train with clubs all the time We had Lita last season I think.

Exactly. If he hadn't have been so selfish and not scored 50 goals in a 100 games we wouldn't be in this bloody mess. The git. That's not what I meant and you know it. I do. I was being facetious, I apologise. However, the fact of the matter is that Taylor scored bags of goals for us over the past two seasons and that, combined with the fact that he was only given the security of a two year contract, is why there is a question mark over where his future lies. I actually don't mind that he's taking as long as he is to make up his mind - personally I can imagine how difficult it must be to make what could be a lifetime defining choice - because I feel that Taylor has repaid the faith that Rovers showed in him tenfold. I don't know what is going on, I don't know the ins and the outs of the reasons behind why MT is taking so long to make up his mind, but in my mind I would rather think that he's torn between wanting to stay at a club that he likes, with people that he loves or the chance to pick up a considerably larger pay packet for the latter part of his footballing career - and surely we can all agree that this would be an immensely difficult decision to make. On top of that we don't know what Taylor has lined up for when he finishes playing football, maybe nothing yet, and maybe he's only now starting to realise that his career is finite and that even if he picks up £4000 a week for the next three years that's only the equivalent of £25000 a year until he's 50-odd. We're not talking sorted for life here. The saving grace here is that we don't have an O'Toole situation where we are pinning all our hopes on this one signing. We have Darrell Clarke in charge and we know he's no mug. Clarke's handled the situation pretty much perfectly as far as I'm concerned, he's told Taylor that the offer is there and that it won't be there forever and I would bet my left nadger on the fact that he's looking at other targets. The question is will those targets offer the goal scoring returns that Taylor has? Maybe, maybe not, maybe they'll prove to be better in the long run; who knows? What I know is that Taylor has been part of a history defining era and has been an integral part of a squad that have given us "our Rovers back" and for my money that earns him the benefit of the doubt. A decision will be made at some point and at the end of the day it's up to DC to ensure that if Matty decides to move on then there is a contingency plan. As fans we are impatient because I think, in truth, the vast majority of us would be very disappointed to lose MT but I don't think that gives us the right to lambast the guy for not making a decision in the time frame in which we deem to be suitable - especially when we really know so little about his options - as those parameters are set by people with far more insight than us. But that's just my opinion.

I used to work at Longleat, it happens more than you'd think. The Park Ranger said it to me quite often. That and "don't let the monkeys do that to you Hugo...." I'm in Court on Friday. Was the park ranger wearing an elephant mask at the time?
