I don't know....assuming they reach 800, that's not bad considering its on sky, and it is only the first round. Would we take 800 over there? We definitely would! We didn't last time though if I remember rightly and it wasn't in TV.

That was the efl trophy this is the efl cup Right. I know it's confusing! The efl trophy is a rebranded version of the JPT and the efl cup is a rebranded version of the league cup.

Another pointless competition nonetheless. Should be league, FA Cup and that's it.

Another pointless competition nonetheless. Should be league, FA Cup and that's it. Why, it gives us something to think about mid week, apart from the last couple of seasons then it would have been pretty boring with no mid week cup games to think about, I assume you won't be watching this week's game then if it's pointless.

You assume correctly, will effectively be a training game that will tell us nothing.

of course this competition means nothing to many now, and it'll mean nothing to everyone if we lose.... but would it be so meaningless if somehow we end up getting a night out at old Trafford or the emirates?

Why's this competition meaningless?
I'm no major fan of cup competitions and never have been, that's just a personal enjoyment thing, but this ain't the EFL Trophy. It's the cup.... these are competitive games we should want to progress in.

I think the only cup taken seriously by most clubs is the FA Cup. Players and managers moan they play too many games and its pointless cups that need dropping, albeit we are usually only in them for one game!

I suspect if the League Cup and Trophy didn't exist, then TV would devise them anyway.
Personally, if the Prem teams moan about too many games, they should abstain from the League Cup and allow only FL teams to enter. It would mean the Trophy ceased to exist leaving three competitions.

FA Cup = the big one! League Cup = Still relatively well respected JPT / EFL Trophy = A chance for League One-Two sides. All of them I think have a place... except the EFL Trophy now they have destroyed it with U21 sides.

I agree with that. If the Prem teams want less games, than they should withdrawal from the league Cup and leave it for the Championship, League One and Two and then the Trophy can be scrapped as you say.
The Prem then get the extra European place on the league automatically

Yea 3 home games in 7 days will reduce the attendence of a cup game AND its all ticket AND its on sky However with trolls an LL returning and it being a severnside derby, could be pleasantly surprised and only £10 👍 When you say LL are you saying Lennie is back too ? Got to admit I don't really read much about other clubs but I thought Lennie had retired

each to their own of course!
The way I look at it i'm never bothered about these games, so much so I didn't even go to the JPT final when we got there.
As for this competition, have we ever got past round 2 in recent times?

They've shifted about 600. That is awful, wonder if C*ty fans will join us peacefully to cheer us on against their biggest rivals? Bristol United, anyone ?
