I'd drive him to South London myself! I have ready offered to take him anywhere in the U.K. that he wishes to go to. Sorry but your services will probably not be required this time. Mate on the wayback can to pick up Ollie Mcburnie, he is on fire, and recommended us to Connor Roberts.

If he were to go now for that much then the board and DC could only be congratulated for managing to tie him down to a new deal.

Am I the only person in here who would rather keep Taylor than have take the 2.5 m ?
I've been Watching Rovers since the 80s and we've always sold our top strikers for big money and it's always ended in relegation.
One of the best things about Rovers over these last two years is that we've been successfull and have managed to keep hold of our best players and manager and coaches. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Don't expect this to be true. If it is, then would expect a good loan signing to cover ASAP.

We had to sell Penrice for obvious reasons when we were at Twerton, but we didn't really replace him for a good chunk of the promotion season, before Saunders came in. Sealy and Nixon filled in and did a job, but it was Mehew's goals that fired us to promotion. That's what you can do with a strong work ethic and a settled squad, which we have now........ Still would rather not sell Matty, though.

While I think the rumour is total b0ll0xs, I guess if we did sell him for that type of money then whether it's good for the team depends on whether Wael hands DC all the proceeds, or like Oxford this summer he just gets around 10% of the money.

It's unknown territory really isn't it. With previous boards we've hardly seen the money because it's all gone on running costs or whatever and it's usually ended up with us going one step forward two steps backwards. I'd like to think it would be different now but hypothetically speaking if I had to make the choice for the club right here right now I'd keep him rather than risk losing our top attacking player.

Who is/was better at their best, Taylor or Penrice? Now that would be a hard call. Quite similar players I think but operating in different eras, I'm pretty sure MT physique would've put Garys to shame but I think Gary probably had a sharper football brain. The easy answer is until MT has played in the top league it's Gary Penrice.

I would also say Penrice was more of an attacking midfielder than an out right striker. A very good player and scout!

Much better to keep them and add more quality.
