When Penrice played alongside Devon White he was awesome. Sharp, pacy, direct and lethal in front of goal. He lost his pace later and became a different type of player. I would put him a notch ahead of Taylor at the moment, with Marcus Stewart just a tiny bit ahead of Penrice. As others have said, though. Taylor has improvement in him.

One exception yes, there probably are others but generally speaking of you keep selling your best players then you won't win much. Much better to keep them and add more quality. Generally speaking the only clubs that don't sell their best players are Barcelona and Real Madrid (which sort of proves your point), few have the financial clout to avoid their players being financially envious of a possible move. And if there is a release clause in the contract the club has no way of not selling if it's triggered.

Very true the player who returned was far different to the player who left when we were at Twerton

I don't understand how a player who played in the Premiership, as it is now, can only be said to be a notch above a player who hasn't even proved himself yet at Div 1 level? Perhaps in the quarters there wasn't a lot between them but, as one posters already said, there were 4 years difference in their ages.

Your two notches might be my one! To clarify, I think Penrice at his best was a better player than Taylor is now, as befits proving himself at a higher level, and that Stewart was slightly better still than Penny!

I'll say it AGAIN! Why would anyone pay £2.5M for a player who they could have had for free a couple of weeks ago? Surely if there is any truth in this story, it should be clearer tomorrow pm when the team is selected, if he's playing, no truth, if he's not there's substance. Blessings.

Marcus Stewart finished the top English premier league scorer 2000/01 Gary Penrice scored top flight goals Devon white scored top flight goals Jason Roberts scored top flight goals Barry hayles scored top flight goals Jamie cureton was championship top scorer 2000/01 Bobby Zamora scored top flight goals Scott Sinclair scored top flight goals Ricky Lambert scored top flight goals and for england Matty Taylor has a long way to go to catch these players in his career ,quite a pedigree of strikers have passed through BRFC since the 1989 season.
