i think ive touched a nerve with this thread because its highlighted the negativity and fickle attitude of many of our own supporters. in the blackthorn on tuesday the majority of the people around me were doom and gloom and in no way encouraging the team when we were behind. it does seem to me now that "we only sing when were winning"

To be fair, one thing we are excellent at is having a quick GI whenever the opposition score. That is class.

That is class. i still think we are suffering from years of neglect and abuse. people still look over their shoulders wondering where the next soft goal will come from, where the next bad court case will come from, and when the next journeyman player will be putting in a poor performance. Not easy to change your mindset in a short time. And as we go up divisions the oppo are getting better. We've also had 6 seasons in a row where we've been near the bottom or near the top for much of the season. can't relax

seems like a twat started a thread incorrectly where i was stood in the thatchers end there was a lot of abuse aimed at the team not the ref,so for me at least the thread is correct I was in the Thatchers End, and didn't hear anyone boo the team. But the ref got plenty.

The atmosphere at the mem has been sh** for years. I remember games when I was younger in crowds of 5-6000 and loving it and going back to school to tell everyone how cool it was. It got worse after relegation from League One and the sh** that followed but why it's so poor and full of moaners after what we've achieved recently is beyond me. The mems atmosphere is no longer something I would boast about Good god, have Rovers changed their home ground again? I certainly don't recognise mariobalotellis version of events. Christ, I hope I haven't been supporting the sh*t by mistake.

Did you confront them about booing? What did they have to say?

Especially where The City are concerned.

I agree that much anger was addressed towads the referee. Some of his decisions were odd, but he chose not to get his cards out on a couple of occasions when a booking was merited. I thought Sinclair was going to be carded for dissent when he refused his penalty appeal but the ref indicated his pocket and waved Sincs away. The bloke who sits next to me said the ref had one of he highest bookings and sending off tallies so perhaps he was trying to be more reasonable. I shouldn't worry about the players, they would have known fans were booing the ref and not them. I love it when Sincs feels that he's been unfairly treated by a ref - because he goes into "penguin mode". Hops from one foot to the other, arms by the side but flapping rapidly in an out. Wonderful sight; don't miss it next time. Apropos the OP, I think that if Rovers continue to improve the extra people turning up to games will be those who didn't turn up during the bad times. They will naturally be more critical - so better get used to it!

To be fair, one thing we are excellent at is having a quick GI whenever the opposition score. That is class. That's the reason we moved there from the stand and the fact that the guy behind me was constantly picking on one player and saying he was too slow.... Rickie Lambert!
