Can you honestly see us paying any transfer fees unless we sell MT for a decent fee? why not? If we want quality it will cost Taylor's release clause £300k or above nothing less so we got to hope for a bidding war.

Anyone else get the feeling we're about to break our transfer record? I believe Andy Tilson is still our record transfer fee at £375,000. If we lose MT we will have to break this to replace him surely!? i will be very surprised if we get anywhere near that figure DC is always on the lookout for bargins/freebies so i fully expect our new signings will be just that

Taylor's got a £300k clause in is contact so can't go for less but could go for £300k so a bidding war could see the price rise

People say Matty has gone off the boil but even at his peak he has often had a tendency in games to be a bit lazy but then come up with the goods when it matters. I'm not sure I buy all this he is off in January so is not trying. Is it down to him or is it the fact the whole team is playing so poorly and we aren't creating enough chances for him? This is the thing when things aren't going our way, everyone is under the microscope all of a sudden where they wouldn't usually be. Oddly he usually goes off the boil around this time of the season, last season Gaffers saved our Christmas/New Year from memory.

Maybe he knows something that has made him go off the boil! I agree! Swansea have been heavily liked and at a recent xmas do a chap from Swansea confirmed their strong interest and that a bid would be made in January but they were not the only interested club! Brighton have also been linked with him! Wait and see but we need to be on the ball in the market for sure! It will take a lot more than Matty Taylor to get Swansea out of the mire.He does not help our defence stop goals, so fail to see what he would offer the Swans. As regards " heavily linked with Swansea, living in the area and knowing quite a few Swans ST holders., I can confirm he is one name that has never been mentioned in the many rumours circulating as regards transfer targets.

From a good friend of Taylor's if he has a release clause it just means that any club that triggers the set amount will be able to talk to him. rovers will just get whatever the amount is and the clubs that trigger it will be free to offer taylor a contract. the only bidding war would be over taylors salary etc, rovers would just get the set amount which you say is 300k!!

From a good friend of Taylor's He can't be that good a friend if he's telling everybody his get out clause figure? If it's even true I guess it's £300K more than we would have got in the summer if he'd left for the mighty Oxford.

Tin hat firmly in place, that other mob down the road will be offloading in January, would quite like Luke Freeman, don't know who else they will get rid of.

Taylor's got a £300k clause in is contact so can't go for less but could go for £300k so a bidding war could see the price rise Strange that. Someone with top links at the club told me it was £850k. At £300k it wouldn't have been worth paying him what we are now in case he failed at this level. As for Swansea, my cousin is on the Supporters trust there, and the only time he has heard MT 's name is when I mention it.

He'd have to be on over £15K per week to go above £300k worth of wages to January. I very much doubt he's on £15K per week, but even if he is, the 13 potentially crucial league goals, however full your glass, show that even if he goes for only £300K it is good business as he had us over a barrel and was ready to leave in the summer for nothing.
