Steve Hamer's phrasing is a bit 'management speak'. He probably means we intend to progress the acquiring of the land (you would hope we already have a signed purchase contract subject to planning permission), or he could mean progress the project on the land that we've already acquired.

Im not a fan of the cryptic wording which enables uncertainty. 'Keep supporters informed of any future progress'? Drop the 'any' for Christ sake if it genuinely is going ahead!!

"It is great news for the football club," Clarke said. "It is immensely important to us. Now it is important we build what we need. "We only spend 90 or 95 minutes trying to win a game at the Memorial Stadium every other week. The training ground is where you do your work every day of the week and it has to be absolutely spot on. "We might be up there in terms of attendances in comparison to some of the teams we are playing against in League One, but in terms of infrastructure we are miles behind. "Look at a club like Shrewsbury with a recently-built stadium and look at Fleetwood with a new £7million training complex. What we want to do is not only match and better the teams we are playing on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon, but also to build the infrastructure that will help us to be competitive at the level we want to get to over a sustained period of time. "Infrastructure is where this club has fallen behind in the last few years and it is fantastic that the owners have put this plan together. I hope that we will all work together to produce the sort of top-notch facility we need." I think Wael or SH said that it was purchased subject to planning permission, I guess they just have to go through the conveyancing now reckon by about end of Feb it will be ours and an official announcement will be made.

Unless Wael's going to start throwing his money around I can see we can compete with that type of expenditure on just training facilities, although you sense their chairman as too much spare cash/has bought the wrong club in Lancashire! www.skysports.com/football/news/11719/10251178/sir-alex-ferguson-opened-fleetwoods-new-8million-training-complex-on-wednesdayAs i mentioned before on this thread is there a time limit in which an Appeal can be entered given the issues we had with the Mem will the club need to wait until they are certain one won't be submitted to S Glos?

How the fek have they got that kind of money with 2000 fans? The owner has a load of cash. His company also has offices at Fleetwood's ground, so it pays rent to the FC and thus the FC gets a bigger turnover which can be spent on the team
