Perfectly reasonable and balanced given our position and exactly what I think.
No doubt some wont be able to comprehend this

Better all be patient then. Evolution not revolution etc. Clearly not gonna get ripped off or do anything rash. Good bit of expectation management by DC IMHO. I like this but does slightly feel like I'm being asked to lower my expectations! 😜

Think today's changes showed we will be consolidating this season, not pushing for the top 6. DC's comments above I think confirm that.

Judging by some of the posts of recent weeks, we have a bunch of conference players thst all need to be sacked according to some

DC has worked a miracle to get us where we are with the players we have. It's not as if we took league 2 by storm last year. We sneaked the last promotion place at the last possible minute. Even if we get no-one in that's fine by me if it's due to the right players not being available at the right price in this window. Remember that evolution is what everyone at the club is buying into. That doesn't involve quick fixes or rushed decision making. These players will keep us in the division, I have no doubt about that. I also like what he said about the loans. Sounds like he is learning all the time from experience.

Why build up fans expectations when he probably has 3 or more players undecided?
I applaud the need for permanent signings over loans.
DC will, as we do, want all of his targets in January if we had a magic cheque book. We don't and he has a responsibility to not squander club funds.
Look at the BS we signed chasing success - Kenneth, Gill etc. We need to do homework on players now. This means you can't just go out and buy some lad from some club because he scored a few goals.
All managers want success more than we do. These comments are not a reluctance to move forward but a sensible view given we are new to league one and want to use funds wisely

The only problem with settling for a mid table position is a lot of our fickle fans would drop of drastically, if we don't keep pushing for a top six place. Also certain Gas Chats arm chair pundits - you know who you are-who rarely watch a game home or away would turn on everything that is not too their liking. After today's very poor result, let's try and be ready for Saturday with positivity and make sure John Joe O'Prick goes back to Northampton thinking why did I ever leave the mighty Gas?
For f**k's sake keep the faith,

Damn I was hoping he'd say he'd pay what any club wanted just to get players in and keep the Gaschat forum users happy!!

This is basically code for there is no money to spend, evolution not revolution means most of us will be dead before the evolving is done.

It sounds more like code for there's actually a bit of money to spend but I wont't be watering it up the wall unless I can get the players I want because last time the club did that it nearly went out of existence. I'm also not sure when you're planning on dying but we've moved up two divisions in two years already. Not exactly asking over the odds for DC, Wael and the squad to be given the grace of at least one season without a promotion or the building of a stadium in the next 12 months.

I don't see how people can read between the lines on this one.
He has targets that will improve the side, but will wait till the summer if needs be.
I've said it before. I'd be chuffed with a top half finish this year and kick on next.

But little signs of any real investment in a squad which, has you say, was playing Conference football 2 years ago? Even though it's DC who keeps on talking about a top 6 finish. I'm starting to think the Al Qadi's have lost interest in spending serious money at Rovers now that they've realised they can't get the UWE land at a reasonable price. At the moment apart from clearing the wonga loan we don't seem to be in any better shape than we would have been under NH, manager, squad and Mem wise but perhaps all the work is going on behind the scenes, who knows.

The way I see it is we are still assessing our options as regards to ground and won't show our hand until we have a pocket pair. I think the Wael wants slow progression until the stadium is built or on the way to being built then you may see more ambition. Until then we will just look to progress with not overly investing.

What do you class as spending 'serious' money?
The Al-Qadi's are investment bankers. They will not spend money for the sake of it

when DC say 2 I hope he really means 4 signings. signing a goalkeeper and 1 other might not be enough.
we don't have the depth in quality at all, yesterday Charlton result clearly demonstrates that.
I hope we don't get complacent now and think that we aren't far off 50 points now and will be safe easily and can rest players like we did yesterday and just attempt to win the home matches.
