Like colkz a lot, I wouldn't wish Swindon on anybody.

As disappointing as it is he has gone back (and we knew he'd be going back out on loan somewhere) there is no way he would deserve to be picked ahead of ollie clarke at the moment so no room for him here.

Sure he'll be relishing the prospect of increasing his number of twitter/insta followers

But that's not is role anyway, TBH I'd sooner see him coming on to play on the left wing if need a goal than LL! It'll be interesting to see how Sherwood fits him into their team and what impact he makes as he seemed to lose his way with us after a promising start, the comments about twitter and tats seem a bit uncalled for.

Guess that has answered my question with regards season long loans.
Swindon are a poor side at the moment & 3 inexperienced youngsters shouldn't improve them that much, get them down the Mem and run em ragged

I hope he doesn't get a bad reception. People have said about his Twitter account or whatever as if he's more bothered about fame than playing football but I just think that's because he's seen as a 'pretty Chelsea boy'.
He has definitely made a contribution for us this season and showed some promise and there's no suggestion that he had a bad attitude at all so I'd rather clap him than boo him personally. UTG!

Agree nottsgashead. Why wouldn't we? He's a young footballer and in today's day and age they move around. He will probably go on loan to 5/6 teams as it's unlikely that he'll make it at Chelsea. The really good youngsters like Loftus -Cheek are struggling to get game time. I think you have to be exceptional, not just very good, to have a chance to make it. They hoover up all the best talent and lend them out. Can't blame Colkett for the system he's working in. Him and others like him are just as much a victim as lower league clubs. So I will give him a clap, but not too loud! UTG!

He won't get a bad reception! He will be clapped early on then given the same treatment as any other inbred roundabout botherer.

I think Colkett and Roos have gone back early as they no longer featured in DC's plans bar sitting on the bench/in stands/storming off when not in team ala Boateng (regardless of the official line) and by saying they were recalled by their club saves them face

Any other team and I don't think there's any doubt but because it's Swindon it just made me wonder. You know how fickle some fans can be. But yes I agree with everything else you've said. The new loan system as well means that even more youngsters are just going to get loaned for the sake of backup because people are worried about ending a transfer window without having numerous players to cover every position. I didn't think anything of it at the time, but the more we discuss it the more I realise how awful a rule it is for both lower league clubs and youngsters. UTG!

Best of luck to him, although not against the gas, obviously. Could do us a favour if he performs against some of the other contenders for the playoffs.

Very simple Gaffers - we don't need to panic - DC can bide his time and get the right men at the right price. Swindon, Bury, Port Vale, Oldham, Shrewsbury, Coventry etc are on the verge of relegation - we aren't!

Charlie Colkett signs on loan for Swindon....and they get 2 other Chelsea lads...everyone is doing their business so why aren't we??? Because DC has the money to make decent fulltime signings rather than loaning players who probably aren't the long-term answer. And because pulling off those deals is more complex as those teams and players will be looking for the best option that presents itself throughout the whole of January. We had half a dozen loans, the best players you could expect to attract to league one and none of them were as good as, let alone an improvement, on our own players. Colkett will be with time, but as someone else has said already he doesn't justify a place ahead of the likes of Ollie Clarke and Chris lines. He's Chelsea's player and so they've done what they wanted. Far better that we're patient and try to sign permanent players.

I rated colkett but as soon as he hit the first team he went off the boil and failed to impress. Once he started to fail to make an appearance our home form has really taken off. He's good enough to get an appearance here and there but he's not yet ready for full first team football at Rovers and if Chelsea ain't happy with that then tough. Swindon are welcome to him, as are Northampton to Boateng.
I've faith in what Darrell is doing and I'd rather a wait or no signings than wasting time, money and spirit on primadonas who can't pay their dues or players who don't improve the squad.
Fair play to our players from the relegation squad, Conference and league 2 who are stepping up and proving a point that they're still worthy their place in the squad like Ellis, Macca, Ollie C. We need more of these players who can take us to the next level and beyond. Players who have tasted disappointment and want to better themselves and their club. These are players who align with and get our culture.

I liked Colkett, his backheel at MK,his goal at Oldham where first half he played well, but i wouldn't say he is what i would choose for a relegation scrap. Good luck to the lad

I have no idea why Clarke didn't play him after Shrewsbury.
