Looks like a decent bit of business all round. Good work Wael, Steve and DC.

But then the club gets stick for DC being "undermined" for not signing Div 1 players! Although I'd like a bit of a mixture as at least Div 1 players have already played at this level, Roos couldn't hack it at this level even though he seemed to do OK at the Dons last season.

DC's only gone and done it again. Seems like a bright articulate young man who's chomping at the bit to get going. Everyone on their forum is gutted that he's going but really happy for him too which is highly indicative of the type of player/person we've just acquired. Not only that, but to see the kind words from Eastleigh about the way my/our club conducted themselves, particularly the manager (apparently some fella by the name of Darrell Clarke) is pure class my fellow Gas 'eads. PURE CLASS! I am absolutely buzzing about this signing and the style in which it executed. Great job and well done to all concerned. Welcome to The Gas Joe. In DC we trust. UTG! oh and before I forget, I don't give a monkey's what the fee was, it's not important.

Great interview and pretty excited about this one. Future captain I reckon. Sounds like a smart leader type and getting great reports, really good work. I do suspect he will get the armband. Wonder what Hartley is thinking from his sickbed . . .

Great to see a message from Joe on the Eastleigh club website, thanking one and all at the club. Well worth a read, if the lads on the pitch demeanour is half as good as that off it we will have signed a real gem.

Eastleigh supporter here. Just to say nearly everyone at the club is devastated that Joe is leaving and that's not an exaggeration. My son had his name and number on his shirt for Christmas and cried when I told him the news, he is only six though. Hopefully he will settle into your team quickly and become the player we loved at our club. I would probably put him in the top three or four players we've had at the silverlake. Best of luck for the rest of the season and I hope you reach the playoffs. I think our chance has gone now. Although you never know in football.

Sorry your young lad is upset does he want to sell the letters on the back of his shirt for my new home kit. 50p a letter? That's not very nice.

I wish you and your club all the very best, much has been made of how our club handled this signing and you can also be proud of the way your club and supporters have conducted themselves. Good luck Spitfires.

I think most on here could understand that and relate to getting upset when their favourite player as a youngster left. Hopefully he will feel better in the morning and the fee allows you to build. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Sorry to hear that about your son, but I'm sure many of us have been there. I was a bit older but just as devastated when Paul Randall left rovers for stoke. But looking back I learnt a lot about how football works from that and it actually opened my eyes to being interested in other teams and football more widely, although only ever supported Rovers. I still followed his fortunes and those of stoke (as much as I could in a pre digital world), even had a picture of him in Stoke kit! He remained my hero, then he came back. Even watched him play in non league years later at Clevedon. Hope your lad keeps an eye on Joe's career whilst continuing to support his club.

Oh No ? Not another Conference player!!!! Just hope he is better that some of the others we signed in the past like Nigel Martin, Barry Hayles, Gary Penrice, Nicky Tanner, Stuart Taylor etc If not I see a Parting ton of the waves as he passes on his way to the Prem. Along with the Gas I trust!!!!

I feel your pain, my youngest thought Matty Harrold was the best player ever after chatting to him at a Pre Season Friendly, still wont acceot Matty Taylor is a better player even now! (Though he is only 9)
