Your majority shareholder had made a statement like the one pasted in below or go to www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/statement-from-steve-lansdown-3534836.aspxThis is an honest question. I realise hypothetical questions are hard (and in general I don't like them) but it could happen. Imagine in 5 years we might have some nice new training and academy facilities, trying to bring young players through (but it might take a long time...), have a nice stadium and related facilties, and have managed to get into the Championship (or maybe still in Lge 1). 15,000 Season tickets are sold and the club is buoyant. We have a young manager who seems to be going places. We are 5th in October and expectations have well and truly risen; a few may even be crowing to our noisy neighbours about the Premier Lge (or Championship if still in Lge 1). But then follows a dramatic drop to 20th, with only 2 wins and a draw in 16 league games, culminating in setting a new club record of 8 lge losses on the trot. The 15,000 ST holders have now watched 5 home defeats in 6, included several late capitulations to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. One was even against our biggest rival... Cardiff City. In fact, the Bluebird Dragons (their new nickname) have already done the double over us. Swine. Genuinely how would you feel if you were told to "pull together" as if your years of supporting Rovers through thin and thin wasn't already considered that? You saved hard to buy that ST. Or have expectations just risen a bit too far? Maybe he's right... negativity and whingeing about it isn't going to help.

www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/statement-from-steve-lansdown-3534836.aspxRovers's majority shareholder has issued the following statement.I hate losing football matches and, like every Rovers fan, take no pleasure in having lost the last eight league games. There is no point in feeling sorry for ourselves. What we need to do is pull together, be stronger and work harder. That is what I intend to do and I expect everyone associated with the club to do the same. Look at the progress we have made: Our infrastructure is so much better now, as illustrated by our recent recruitment and the clear pathway we have established for our Academy players to follow and force their way into the first team. We have a good squad, which we will continue to look to invest in, with the ability to entertain us and climb up the league. The stadium speaks for itself with improved facilities and atmosphere, but we continue with our work to develop the training ground and Academy facilities. I have no intention of seeing this wasted. Every supporter and their opinion is valuable and respected. It is understandable that you are unhappy at the moment and frustrated by recent events. What I would ask you to do is channel that frustration into raucous support of the club, its management and players in order to turn things around. Your owner

I think he's right but sadly it's rare nowadays to see that genuine collective desire from fans to lift their team when they most need it. Looking inwards at ourselves, just think how Tom Lockyer would feel if he turned up on Saturday to see banners of support, to hear his name chanted and his song sung, rather than pick up terrace shouts from individuals telling him he's sh**?

Lose a couple of game and Wael could be posting something similar soon, let's leave it to the 82'ers to worry about their own problems.

If the shoe were on the other foot and DC was under pressure as much as LJ I would still back him. We haven't seen a run of defeats to test the faith in DC yet, but it will happen at some point.

The difference is that DC has actually delivered here - he's got us promoted twice and, if we WERE in the Championship that would have meant 3 promotions. On that basis, I'd stand by him whatever.
LJ has done f**k all. Kept them up last year but haven't seen anything to suggest he's THAT a good a manager to warrant them giving him any longer.
That said, I pray they stand by him and he continues to lose every game, week in, week out.

Can't compare, really. The sh**e have had every opportunity to completely dominate Bristol football, and they've squandered it. We basically handed the city to them on a plate and they couldn't take advantage. They have a hugely wealthy owner who has bunged so much money at the club people should really be laughing in his face everytime they see him. They talk a good game (this is the third era iirc they've gone on about Europe) but never deliver. They're a bunch of spoiled, under-achievers (from our point of view, obviously from Man City's or Chelsea's point of view, they won't look spoiled) and they'll keep getting spoiled, by the looks of it, and keep throwing their toys out the pram, until one day, God forbid, probably through luck rather than judgement, they will eventually get it together and become half decent. (I just hope that we manage it first.) Until then they'll just keep being spoiled, and keep whining and keep crying. Which is great for us, coz sometimes supporting Rovers, the only good thing about it, is seeing how sh** the sh** are about everything. Of course, LJ knew what a bunch of lady gardens they were better than anyone before he took the job, so have no sympathy for him.
So, no, I can't answer your question.

This is why I really can't understand all the moaning on here.
If someone told me the day we went down to the conference that within 2 1/2 seasons we would be a top 10 L1 side I would never have believed them and would have snatched their hand off.
If you'd then told me that people would actually moan about it I'd have said, no way, we would all be overjoyed.
When the inconceivable has actually happened there are people on here who still are not happy.
Some football fans really are unbelievable.

Pined that she wasn't dating me. I wanted her so bad. That's my EX wife by the way, who I initiated proceedings with. This is cringeworthy but there is an oft told Chinese anecdote which says "every disappointment is a door opening". This is so true. It's ridiculous. I got my dream job because I took the wrong job that I hated first. That made me find the right job. Have you bumped into an ex GF or a woman you desired in the past only to see her in a sorry state a few years later? We evaluate things as "good" or "bad" but life is too complex to really know what will result from what happens. I have decided to just ride life like a bike and not judge what happens on a day to day basis. "Always passing on wisdom" - David Brent

On the otib theres a long thread hammering lansdown for the statement and standing by the manager, they are turning on him big time it seems. If we lost our next 7 games making 8 in total would dc get sacked or would his 2 promotions buy him more time than that?

It's the nature of the beast im afraid, its no longer all about taking part but all about winning (unless you are Arsene Wenger)
However well a club has done previously, as soon as there is a blip (and a major one in the example) fans will grumble.
I think the teds have illusions of grandeur a lot more than any gashead will ever have, therefore we would take struggling at our level a lot more than they do.
This statement shows support of the manager but most teds want him gone; so no matter what else he said, that is not going to go down well in BS3 (err, I mean BS7)

There is a post on OTIB from a resident f**k-tard which sums them up nicely;
"I couldn't give a stuff what the gas think. When they were on the verge of dropping into the conference (a couple of times) they did absolutely nothing. No protests. Nothing. They stood there with their thumbs up their asses and let it happen thinking they were too big to go down. Never, ever held the club to account. Jokers. I'll say this for city fans: we don't put up with sh**. Some may go about displaying there displeasure in the wrong way, but if we feel things are going wrong we stand up. It's something that should be applauded (as long as its not vicious) in my opinion"
