Why do people keep quoting 300,000 the fee was indisclosed Because if you say the same number enough times people start to believe it. Exactly: Forum Fact Syndrome (FFS).

3 hundy thousand more than we would have got last August. Plus the goals he scored this season, and time gained to develope current players & plan for the inevitable. Now raise your hand if you would still like me to kick you in the ballocks ?

The teds clearly didn't actually need Taylor given their transfer work up until this point. The whole thing genuinely reeks of Lansdown and Ashton sh**ting their pants because their season has fallen apart, the fans are on their backs and there was a genuine chance that we could finally be above them in the pyramid next year. It sticks in the craw that the traitor has gone to the teds but maybe we should see it as a compliment that the powers that be at the shitpit are that worried about us. Even though we're not their rivals apparently... The heat is well and truly off Lansdown and Johnson for a couple of weeks now and maybe Lansdown is hoping that will buy them time to start turning their collapse around. They've thrown enough money at the problem that is for sure. I have just got home and was going to write almost EXACTLY as this. Not only does Lansdown want to save his skin, but for what is an insignificant amount of money to him, he's tried to put a spanner in the works for the Rovers and by reading some of the comments here today on numerous threads, he's got a Brucie bonus with all the hate and vitriol created by some of our own fans aimed at OUR OWN board. So....what to do? Do we put our hands up in a surrender position or do we demonstrate what we're really all about. By getting behind EVERYONE and EVERYTHING to do with our beloved club. Matty Taylor, thanks for the memories but in the last few years the Gas have certainly not been a one man team. Can you imagine what the rest of the squad must feel like reading some comments on here? The squad members that we've been waxing lyrical about of late because many have produced multiple performances all over the pitch to get 8's and 9's out of 10, by us, the fans. Too many to mention, that's for sure. WE ARE NOT A ONE MAN TEAM, and I am sure that Mr. Taylor will realise that to his sorrow very shortly, and I take no joy from saying that. The man has made a mistake and it's down to us to show him, and we will. I've got the day off tomorrow, I'm going to put my "Fear the Beard" T shirt on and go down the local with my chest out and my head held high. I'll have one for DC and Weal but the first one I have will be for you, my fellow Gas 'eads. We are going up, and now you better believe it. UTG!

I don't look over my neighbors fence. He has a better car, his house is bigger and his wife works at Hooters.

To cap it all: I would just luuuurve (thanks Kevin Keegan) to see those that float prove that sh!t does sink, and for us to "close the gap" to at least minus 3

A major concern surely now has to be that Letdown attempts to prise DC away from the club at some point. Assuming that is of course that DC and Johnson's trajectories continue along their current paths (which is not a given) there would surely come a point where he'd consider it - especially given that money is basically no object to the grubby little club down the road.

I'm not in UK so not totally with it. But thought they had just broken their cons defeats record. One more defeat and this will be forgotten, light relieve for city, good end up relegated, with one big wage bill

He doesn't get to be as rich as he is by accident. He is not as stupid as he sounds. Saying that, he could have had much better players than Taylor from us in the past, Lambert being the best example recently. Even if Taylor never scores a single goal for them, 300k is worth keeping the 'gap'they seem to keep mentioning, and they could still sell him on for 10x what they paid us. AND: he could have got him free at the end of last season! BTW: I will always stick up for Lansdown's financial knowledge and prowess, having worked in finance myself. The man is a genuine financial genius: To me, he uses those that float as a hobby and is fortunate enough to not have to worry about the costs. But I sure as hell hope that it eats mightily into his fortune and fails. Having been also in the industry for a long time, HL have a huge risk as they charge 0.5% for a platform and then mail you former business, promote funds and stray almost into advice yet they wriggle out of being accused of giving advice (when they mail clients saying we think you should transfer your pension to us - this is How you do it? Easy money, no liability. Both SJP and HL technically push the limits and would have been already fined or shut down for offering advice without a fact find if they didn't employ so many people. The regulator is scared of acting. I've had interviews with them and some of their staff truly are obnoxious. On the phone, regional accents are banned. Phone them up and you won't speak to anyone with a regional accent, ring them and check! Every member of staff must be plunmy, it's like a rule it seems. Genius he ain't. He's basically an insurance salesmen who did it on a website.

Just think about it logically for a minute. To begin with one of the first - if not the very first - instances of the £300k figure came from Keith Chump. Secondly, if MT had been available for £300k from the first of January do you really think that it would take until the 31st for an offer to be made? Thirdly, why would DC joke about offers of £ms being turned down while knowing Matty had a release clause for a paltry £300k. The chances are that £300k is way off the mark.I'd like this to be true, but Alistair Durden on bbc quoted that figure so I'm inclined to believe it was 300K I'm afraid. I'd like DC to explain his 10M comments, but as it's officially an undisclosed fee I don't think he will.

We were desperate for a goalscorer and have got one at a very good price. 300k is peanuts these days in football worth the gamble.

I don't relate the transfer to the playoffs at all.

Taylor or Abraham, only room for one up front, Taylor is not a lone striker. At the end of the season if you stay up, you may have the option of keeping either but not both, Abraham will cost you say £8 mill, you will then find out if you are the same as us or not. Of course you could fund Tammy by selling MT for his true worth, bet there is no percentage sell on clause.
