Great game today but very sad that we have lost a top goalscorer and replaced him with a non-goalscorer albeit a very honest player. Im surprised that suporters have bought into the "we couldnt do anything about losing taylor" but dont worry we have got luke james bullsh**. dc and wael/hamer have just got off the hook because they have obviously got most things right but i believe the city taylor thing was a done deal long ago and we should have had a new striker in before the deadline. i believe we had a small chance of promotion which we have thrown in the bin as we simply will not be good enough up front for the rest of the season. Great if i have to eat humble pie on this mind you DC has explained the circumstances surrounding the exit. What are you spouting about "bought into ....luke james bullsh**"? What don't you understand about what DC has said? No bull**** but it is as it is. Get over it, he's gone and we now get behind LJ or whoever fills the spot. It's been explained to us that it happened on the Monday/Tuesday and was not "a done deal long ago." I've not bought into anything, it's been explained to me, I accept the explanation and we move on. It really isn't that complicated. Just because you don't like something doesn't give anyone the right to try and rewrite what happened just to make it more acceptable! UTG! the bullsh** part is dc implying that luke james is an equal replacement for taylor and an interview at least a week before deadline day by hamer gave a pretty good clue that taylor was going. The club knew with such a low release clause we would most likely lose taylor so we should have been prepared and ready to bring a striker in.

Blue Butterfly - posts:many. All drivel.
I really don't understand what DC is doing letting this guy post on the forum. Recently signed but I really don't see potential to improve the forum.
Disgraceful performance yesterday, it's a wonder they persevere with him. Clearly there are better posters out there.

It is a crying shame to see a post like this two games after Taylor left. As he/she quotes James' recent scoring stats for other clubs, it seems only fair to quote some back Jason Roberts scored 1 goal in his first 17 games for us. Rickie Lambert scored 1 goal in his first 22 games for us. Matty Taylor scored 1 goal in his first 13 games for us. Give the guy a chance!! Give him to the end of the season. Get behind him, big him up. He has shown he has had the scoring touch in the past and is in great hands at our club to regain it. What do we have to lose? At the end of the season, if DC feels he's not the answer we won't sign him and we'll bring someone else in. But maybe, just maybe, he is the answer. There is clearly ability and effort there. Far better to give him a good run of games now than to write him off and let Easter see out the season up front, in my opinion. Both Lambert and Taylor came in for serious questioning during their probation/early period. I would say that 2 games whereby we have played 2 of the strongest sides in the league is very early to start criticising our players.

What's the point in dragging it all back up? Anyone with a suspicious mind would think you have an ulterior motive..?

Just to provide a bit off balance. DC did say he would have liked to get in an additional striker but both his targets were over valued. (See his extended interview on Feb 1st) so it's not like he didn't try. He will bring in other strikers in the summer regardless of how LJ performs that is 100% certain. With regard to LJ he scored goals at Hartlepool which earned him a £500k move. I am pretty sure though he played in the hole at Hartlepool akin to the role Broom played when he came on yesterday so I would like to see him get a run in that position before everyone judges him negatively

I agree that James should be given a chance but I was somewhat disheartened by Stuart Sinclair's answer when he was asked what James is like in training in a post-match interview yesterday. He replied "he never stops running". I was hoping for something along the lines of "he bangs them in for fun, the lad's unplayable!"

Don't think DC is saying or implying LJ is an "equal replacement" for MT but he was brought in for that last Summer in case MT went then. And I would always want players to be given the chance. DC/MS have obviously seen something in training that make them think he could score goals and I am happy to go with their opinions, they might be more informed than yours! As I said you can't rewrite what happened just because you don't want it to be. By all means disagree that LJ is not a good enough replacement after all, we're all entitled to an opinion but don't don't start spouting that if you don't agree with me it's all bullsh** .

He won't get it spending 6 months on the bench so he needs time to get it back now. For what it's worth he was busy with good movement today. Never likely to score when we started sitting deeper and deeper though and Bradford pushed us into a much more defensive game than we set up for. He done the right things though and when we play teams that allow us to press much higher he will start getting rewards from it.

Let's give him a few games before we compare him to MT. Afterall today he was expected to win headers against a huge Bradford CB

Although just how easy is it to bring in a 20 goal a season Div 1 striker with a week or so's notice, with probably limited transfer funds. Regardless yesterday probably highlighted we're still some way off being serious Play Off contenders.

The difference is none of those players were pitched into a team on the edge of a play off push. Whether dc's choice or the boards choice we have settled for L1 next season. To be clear before the season started I'd have been happy with that but looking at the division 5th or 6th spot is very achievable for a club with ambition

Blue Butterfly's modus operandi:
1. create controversial thread couched in confrontational language.
2. Get called out for chatting sh1te.
3. Up the ante with a couple more confrontational posts on that thread, maybe even.
4. Come over all "Bloody hell guys I didn't mean it like that. You've taken my overtly pointed comments in totally the wrong way".
5. Repeat step 1.

To be honest i think we got to january in a very good position and failed to plan for the loss of taylor. The club didnt have the appetite to show ambition and really go for a play-off place imo. For all we know the oppurtunity may not occur again for years to come especially as we will have to rebuild much of this team.

Yesterday was a good game but i was thinking "why are weaker than we were? and all of a sudden there are few options on the bench" Thats not happened under this manager in the run ins of the previous 2 seasons, when we got stronger.

Strikers are all about confidence, I have looked at his past record and he has scored some good goals when he was younger. DC see's him every day in training, he is not the finished article but all he needs is one goal and we will have a different player.
