Recent trouble at Bristol Rovers away matches could see access to the bars at the Ricoh Arena restricted for the away fans.
More than 4,000 Pirates supporters are making the trip to see their side take on Coventry City on Saturday.
olice have had to intervene at two recent Rovers away matches; the first when they travelled to play Port Vale and the second when they played Oxford United.
Now a few weeks have passed and those in charge of safety at the club have been keen to ensure no more trouble brews at away matches.
Rovers' safety officer Dave Parker has spoken to his counterparts in Coventry ahead of Saturday’s game and has given advice to them regarding the opening times of the bar.
That has led to following information on Rovers’ website: “Bars at the ground will be open pre-match and, depending on behaviour, they will reopen at half time.”
Parker said: “Since troubles at Port Vale and Oxford I have been emailing with safety suggestions ahead of away games to ensure we create the safest environment.
“I have suggested to Coventry that they make it an all ticket event and I have asked them not to open the bar to away fans.
“It is a policy we operate here at the Memorial Stadium and it does help reduce any problems.
“I make the suggestions but it is up to them to decide what to enforce as it is their game.
“What may happen is that they open the bar at half time if the fan behaviour has been good during the first half.
“It would not be an uncommon situation and sometimes things these come down to compromise.”

Sad times when our own club officials have to recommend we're treated like children.
For those who've let us down, why do it? You're making us look as bad as the sh**.

Although how is advertising that they are stopping drinking inside the ground going to help matters, as I assume all the "drinkers" will now go to a local pub instead before the kick off?

Hes the safety officer, it's embarrassing that he has to say this but some of our knob away fans haven't given him an option
