Can we have a third option of 'Let's wait and see'?

Nonsense poll trying to add heat to the fire. I like polls but this 1 is just simply trying to stir so I won't be casting.

He will leave to manage a more ambitious club and im sure he will do well. The owner has spent sweet fa on brfc and if higgs had stayed we would be exactly where we are now in truth. If he stays he will become just another struggling league 1 manager with no money to spend but being blamed when we struggle.

DC set a target of getting this club back to where it should be (ie top 10 league one) when he first took over. Astoundingly he has achieved that in just 3 seasons, the minimum time possible. Given he's achieved that target and if someone now comes in and offers him the right position I think he'll go. To be honest I'd be very surprised if he was still here at the end of the off-season because he will already have turned plenty of heads.
The ambitions of the manager and the owners might be similar but I'll bet their timescales aren't. DC is the best asset this club has by a million miles, and I seriously hope we can convince him to stay but it won't be easy. One day we are going to look back on the last three years and realise what an amazing ride it has been. I'm sure he will too. But he is clearly an ambitious guy with a lot of belief in himself and we're unlikely to be able to match that ambition quickly enough in terms of infrastructure and funding to keep him here.

Why can't we match his ambition, what more can he want than a state of the art 22,000 seat stadium and a similar training facility he's personally helped to design? If Weal delivers those and he still quits then so be it, as it looks like he was always going to quit but will he really find a better club? Nobody in Div 1 can offer much now the big 3 have been promoted, so he's probably looking at a bottom half Championship club.
Obviously if Wael delivers neither project he'll probably be off but DC leaving could be the least of our worries if that happens!
It looks like an interesting summer is coming up.

Watching numerous DC interviews he always sounds confident re the improved infrastructure and the training ground and stadium plans so I think he may well know exactly what the true state of play is and may be why he wasn't tempted by Leeds or Nowrich!

When was he offered the Norwich job exactly, can't remember that? He will stay here no prob.

I never get why a good percentage of our fanbase are so un-ambitious and seem to love us being ragbag Rovers and are so damm negative! Let's get this straight. We are a club from a massive city, with a large current fanbase with a huge potential fanbase for growth.Ok we have tents for stands right now,and as of now we are currently playing catch up with other clubs in terms of infrastructure but our owners are doing there best to fix this asap. DC is a wise man.He clearly loves our club, can see what going on behind the scenes otherwise he would had been off to Leeds.DC has brought himself time with our fanbase and board to be the complete captain of our ship for many years to come. Once the training ground is built, and the UWE has been started, the question is would there be a better or more attractive club for DC to manage then us given our potential and his relationship with us.

Reasonable debates are one thing which Im all for, however there are people in our fanbase that are not happy unless they are moaning or are able to feel the victim about something within our club.

Obviously if Wael delivers neither project he'll probably be off Exactly. So the big question for me is what timescales is DC willing to tolerate to wait for the training ground and the stadium to be complete? 2 years? 4 years? 10 years? That is probably the most pertinent question here I think. Because lets face it a manager of his calibre is not going to sit around treading water with us forever no matter how much he says he loves being here. So realistically, what are your thoughts on that? How long would DC be prepared to knock back offers from clubs with better infrastructure and funding to wait for us to catch up?

Yes there are people like that of course, I hope you are not putting me in that category though? As that is how it came across.

The 22000 state of the art stadium is still quite a bit away and is it really that big a deal when you compare it to other clubs who already have 22000 seater stadiums or more? The reality is DC has done a fantastic job here and for that reason, he will be linked with plenty of jobs in the summer. We've just got to hope a big fish doesn't come in for him.

My only doubts would be if the owners fell well short of the funds DC had been led to believe would be available for recruitment, and/or if an offer came from a Championship club which fitted his ethos and ambition. You say only as if that has very little chance of happening though? I've got faith in the owners backing DC, and I'm not sure that there would be many Championship Chairmen who would give DC the autonomy which he enjoys here.

Listen to the interview he gave a couple of weeks ago. He spoke about loyalty and speculation over his future. After watching it I felt confident that he would be staying at the club. He seems genuine but that is just words at the end of the day. If for example, Middlesborough come in for him and offered to quadruple his wages then how confident would you be he would remain loyal to little Bristol Rovers who are scrapping around for cheap players. Middlesbrough? Are you for real? Would Leeds have been in for him if they didn't have a lunatic owner?

In truth even if only that comes off we'll be in a better place than we were. Really hope the investment doesn't stop there though.

Not a fan of this poll.
Whether he stays or goes depends on so many factors. On paper it would be silly to bet that he'll leaves. He's got two years left on his contract. Hes got a good job and he enjoys his job.
However- could another team come for him? Yes- they could. Would they be improvent enough? Possibly.
There's a lot of fear mongering going around. The general rhetoric from some fans seems to be. If Wael doesn't splash the cash on a striker, we won't build uwe, Darrell will leave and it rain all year. Truth is- all these things though connected are separate. The most likely thing that will lead to Darrell leaving is being offered a greater job elsewhere. There are not many of these about.
Its not a binary decision but at current I've seen nothing to suggest he's going.
