In case you missed it........ “I am a loyal person, and in that way I am very loyal to the owners who have supported me and the fans who have supported me”
“If I wanted personal gain I would have signed for Leeds in the summer with a massive pay rise, But that’s not how I work.”
“I want to continue here and keep working hard to get Rovers up the ladder even more. Everything about this club in the last three years has improved without a shadow of a doubt”
“That’s because I’ve been driving it and we’ve been driving it, the staff have been driving things forward to lose the ‘rag-arse’ Rovers tag that people associated with us previously.”
Darrell Clarke
Words are cheap. I don't doubt his loyalty but I suspect that loyalty will only stretch so far. You may consider words to be cheap, however our manager has gone on record saying these words and i don't believe he makes statements without thought, afterall they are recorded for everyone to see. He doesn't have the benefit of being able to delete them if he changes his mind

Its like jonestown on here, most people just in a utopian trance following wael and dc without question. Its bloody weird in my view They both get plenty of questions thrown at them at Q&A's & Open days etc but always answer them positively, what's the opposite assume they must have an ulterior motives even though all the evidence is that they are trying to do their best for the club? Although plenty of posters question whether the UWE will ever be built and also some of DC's signings but I guess you can't see those posts for some reason, anyway what do you propose as an alternative to what we've now got, NH returns and employs the out of work MM as manager? I want dc to stay just find it strange that people seem to think he wont take a "bigger club" job offer. With wael im pleased hes secured the clubs future after the mess of sainsbury etc but im a bit concerned if we try to do things on the cheap next year on the playing side again that we will struggle.

The litmus test for most fans would be the UWE getting the go ahead and significant signings. The latter, unless we spend big and it is not an 'undisclosed fee' is probably a bit more subjective especially as cost is often the wage which won't be publicly known. As far as DC being here for the next season, he is a year into a three year deal with a target of getting into the Championship in that time. For me the 2016/17 season was always going to be a benchmark year for the players, seeing who could step up and giving time to show who couldn't. It is the end of Stage 1 if you like, with Stage 2 being promotion to the Championship, so this summer will be a time of change. Not too much I hope for continuity but bringing in about 4 significant signings plus some others. As of now, I see no reason for him to leave. He appears, to my uninformed eye, to have the backing of the board, credit with the fans and is respected by the players. He will have his say over the training ground and can mould the club in his vision. He has time. If nothing has changed in 12 months then maybe then.

Certainly hope your right with regards to the manager staying though i have my doubts.
