What on earth is everyone going on about??? get real chaps/lasses £100,000 or so makes no imprint into the £40,000,000 to £50,000,000 that is needed for UWE Let us be thankful that despite no chance of increasing the capacity Steve and Wael recognise that we should be as comfortable and the players as happy as possible in our current surroundings The thing is if it weren't for third party conversations with, and tweets from, the owner being passed on and repeated on here, anyone would think the UWE had been binned months or years ago. There have been regular posts on the OS about tarting up the Mem, yet none about UWE progress. Christ, it didn't even make it into the Chairman's end of year statement. The negativity and impatience of fans is entirely down to the club's lack of communication. At least higgs kept us updated, albeit with lies, but he recognised how important it was to the fans. I really don't think wael realises how much his and the board's reputation is tied up in this.

I don't think anyone is panicking, just wondering why the club are spending £100K on a pitch we thought they only intended using for a couple of seasons (would the FA etc even gives his grants for just 2 or 3 years usage?) Plus are we really going to improve our home form anymore than this season's to justify the expense anyway, perhaps having a less than perfect pitch is to our advantage.

The groundwork has been laid for the inevitable announcement. Prepare yourselves!! Also casts doubt on a men redevelopment, why would you bother tarting it up?

Everyone at UWE will be on holiday in August ...I suspect this needs to be sorted before the end of the University year at the end of June...Universities are very quiet in July and August as most senior staff and Board members enjoy their summer break. Sorry that is complete and utter nonsense. July and August i.e. the admissions period is the busiest time of year for university staff. The resits period is in the middle of July so even lecturers do not get July off!

New curtains etc is hardly is going to stop a multi million pounds Mem redevelopment, although I can't see that happening as getting pp now will be a nightmare plus how are we going to clear our debts if we don't sell the Mem.

Anyway that only admission's departments. I know about the University calendar even if I know little about anything else. July and August are dead months. Still believe what you will.

It might have been put there to dampen our expectations, but it could just as easily have been put there to keep UWE on their toes by suggesting that Rovers are still quite prepared to walk away if their terms aren't met. My thought. Intended to drop a tacit hint to UWE.Pitch improvements are to encourage footballing players to come here.

Seems odd to update us on the Mem but say nothing about UWE other than the Mem improvements go ahead irrespective. Poor PR strategy to say the least.

How about this reason....to stop DC leaving.
DC wants to constantly take things forward and evolution without spending multimillions will require good facilities and surfaces. A promise of a good pitch in three years time might not cut the mustard with an ambitious manager.

What if any improvements were made to the ground under Higgs? A couple of new tvs and even they were free! I get your frustration, however I genuinely believe that if there was something to say it would be said.

Maybe a stupid question this but does anyone know if the drainage system that's costing all this money can eventually be moved to the UWE and put there?

Blimey there are some real negative buggers on this thread.
Why do so called 'fans' look into every comment made by the club/Wael/Harmer etc and twist it into Armageddon?
The pitch/sprinklers/drainage are being done to support DC and his plans to have a go at promotion next season. The other bits are being done because Wael wants to have pride in the place and present it as nice as possible even if it is for just 2 more years. (as anyone does with their own home even if they plan to move in the future).
UWE will happen, We are in the early stages of the best and most progressive period in the clubs history yet still some on here aren't happy unless there is something to moan about!
