Fair dues, it is a classic post from the OP, though. Do we still have the legendary thread section?

The problem with the "rovers related" rule is where do you draw the line? Bury pushing the boat out pre-season is in many ways rovers related as they are rivals and people wondered how they got the funds. The "elephant in the room" thread is clearly rovers related to a greater and lesser degree depending on your outlook because we are a 2 club city and nothing can change that fact. People wouldnt post if they wernt interested which of course happens with many threads[ie they fizzle out quickly].

Unless it is about fitted kitchens virtually all other threads are in some way football related and I prefer the forum to have some breadth otherwise it can get a bit tedious going over the same topics again and again. I like the awful jokes, the grammar lessons, Jock’s gifs, the pantomime-esque banter and I kind of miss the competitive aspect of the song titles/lyrics association games which never hurt anyone. I don’t know about other people but I rarely venture outside the Gas Works tab as life is too short and there’s more than enough to read in this section. I would rather have threads about Bury or Bristol Sport Men’s Section losing than some of the bickering that goes on in “legitimate” threads.

Both Bristol City and Bury are related to Rovers in different ways. About half want to discuss City and half don't. It's all very well saying if you want to talk about them then go in the General Sport Section but in reality nobody even opens that section up, so anything you post there is a waste of time altogether. I think most things should be in this section, if you don't like a post or thread then don't respond to it simple, but just because you don't like it doesn't mean you should take an "I'm alright Jack" attitude about it and think "sod the rest of you, it should be moved". #GGMIFORMOD

Yeah, istm the Elephant in the Room thread started off as a sort of 'what should we do/be in the context of/response to City's activities' and so that was squarely on topic here, but then it just turned into a commentary on City's cup runs, which is plainly off-topic. The Bury thread started off similarly, in that it was implicitly also about what we do in response to what other teams in our division are doing. And it has largely turned into news about Bury. But as they're in our division, it's still arguably on topic. Really though, if you want to comment on City's cup runs, then you should be posting on OTIB.

Scathing from their manager: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43770877Bury's players "need to take responsibility" for their relegation from League One, says boss Ryan Lowe. Saturday's defeat by Northampton leaves Bury bottom of the table and 12 points adrift of nearest rivals MK Dons. "I felt it doesn't mean enough to certain people," Lowe said following Bury's 26th league loss of the season. "Am I surprised by it? Probably not. Gutted about it? Yes, 100%," added Lowe, who took charge of the Shakers in October following Lee Clark's sacking. Bury's have lost their past seven matches and have not won since beating Gillingham 2-1 on 24 February. Lacking passion Talking to BBC Radio Manchester following the 3-2 defeat by third-from-bottom Northampton , 39-year-old Lowe said he is "not taking responsibility for that relegation". "I've done everything I possibly can for the boys, given them everything they need - the sessions, the atmosphere and the training. "I'm not saying I'm a masterstroke by any means, but the players from start to finish need to take responsibility for the relegation because they're the ones that play most weeks. "There hasn't been one fight in my dressing room this season since I took over. Not one scrap. I probably had 10 or 15 in my career. It means you want to win." When asked if his side lacked passion he replied: "We haven't got any. With the exception of the kids. But they're babies and I'm relying on them, and it's frustrating. "They're quick enough knocking on the door telling me they want to play, I've asked them to be quick enough knocking on my door now to say they want to go, but I bet you they don't."

I have a feeling Bury will underachieve. Lee Clark is overrated as a manager. Done well with Huddersfield when he had money but no great shakes since. Bury seem to be flashing their cocks about and I'd much rather the way we are quietly but confidently, going about things. BOOM.
