Ethan Ampadu to Chelsea is an interesting move. Hopefully he is one of the few youngsters to break into their first-team in the future, because from the little of seen and read, he looks an outstanding talent. Probably Adie Mings had something to to with the deal, the former west country non-league man now scouting for Chelsea.

I'm sure Chelsea's development squads are just commercial-based to acquire £££. I don't know how much it costs to see a player through the ranks but they do sell them on from £5m up to £20m so I'm sure it's a money maker.

Do many of Chelsea's 'home grown' players actually come through to earn them these ££s as I cant remember too many off the top of my head. Even youth players they buy for low fees or get through tribunal don't seem to make it.
John Terry has always been there and certainly earned them money through performances but im struggling to think of many more they brought through themselves. Chelsea would rather buy another foreigner for XXmillion rather than give youngsters a chance. Southampton are a club who do give young players and chance and they have profited massively from it.

Rotherham sign striker Jamie Proctor from Bolton on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Luton sign goalkeeper James Shea on a free. That is two decent keepers signed by them now with Marek Stech arriving for a fee earlier this summer. They will be there or thereabouts for the League Two title this season.

Just shows what we are up against with our "top 6 budget".

That's cheered me up, no offence and he had my total support whilst he was here, but T boner would offer more threat up front and he runs around all day on the tennis court in his Fred Perry plimsolls! Like Katie price we want two big fellas up top!

Yes they're not bad players but am not upset that we weren't in for them, not that we'd know if we were. Stech is a good keeper but OShea was thought not good enough in League 2 for AFCW so they got Roos in on loan. So by that if Roos is better than OShea.....!! I think the wait for loan players, incl hopefully Lumley may go to the wire in August. People on here will be nervous wrecks! UTG!

Shea is a decent back up to Stech, who starred with Yeovil keeping 19 clean sheets the season they won promotion to The Championship.

To be honest James needs to drop a level, get some confidence back.

Ravel Morrison training with Birmingham.
If, and it's a big if, he can finally get his head right he could be the signing of the season in The Championship. He should be playing for England now with his natural ability.
Rio Ferdinand: "Ravel Morrison, this guy was the best young kid I’ve ever seen in my life. Better than Joe Cole when he was a kid, he was doing circus tricks on a football pitch.
“Ravel Morrison - I’ve never seen a guy look so comfortable on a football pitch. But you can’t just have one element without the other, you’ve got to have everything.
“I’d love to see him have a chance again to come back and show everyone his talent. The kid was just different.
“Pogba, [Adnan] Januzaj, [Jesse] Lingard, they used to look up to this boy. That’s what I’m saying, people don’t realise how good he was. Them boys used to look up to him like ‘woah, Ravel Morrison’.”

In regards to James do think he would be better suited to playing on the wing ?
