Weird to see their fans delighted that Cook and his 'negative football' has gone, despite him winning them the league

Pompey have just been bought out for £6m I doubt they'd worry about paying us compo for two years salary. but I can see them going for a much higher profile manager. £6m, that will get you hardly anywhere these days. As a matter of interest what was the state of their yearly P&L account prior to this buy out? Annoyingly better than ours, just a £500K loss during the last 2 years, Mr Disney could well have bag himself a bargain compared to what the ALQ's will need to finance at Rovers, just a £16m outlay against the £50m+ to make Rovers a potential Championship side? As forecast they've gone for an high profile manager.

All of a sudden- I'm thinking could Connor Chaplin be grabbed.
Jacket loves a target man and is from memory all about the power.
And I see Connor as a very similar player to Matty Taylor.
If I was Chaplin and wanted to take my game forward- I'd want DC as my manager.
Long shot, unlikely but who knows.

I've always liked Chaplin but think he will be too expensive with Pompey being in our league.

Paul Cook off to Wigan. Surely with DC's record he would be on any Pompey shortlist. Would he go? Just about to be taken over by Disney. Big League One budget. Does Darrell still live down that way? Incorrect. Linked with being taken over by the former chief executive of Disney, not Disney. and subject to approval by Pompey trust

Incorrect. Linked with being taken over by the former chief executive of Disney, not Disney. and subject to approval by Pompey trust Thought they had rubber stamped the takeover hence why they can now afford Jacket's wages and not a typical Div 1 manager. It seems their financial problems were short lived!

Think that all three that came up automatically will challenge this season .... Huge statement of intent from Portsmouth and already Doncasters manager Darren Ferguson has said they will " be going all out for promotion". Plymouth are a dangerous team who will adapt to L1 like we did ..... throw in Bradford, Southend, Wigan, Blackburn maybe Rochdale and some team that will surprise every one and next season will be a tough ask.

So will be there or there abouts this season. No one actually knows of course.

What's a top 6 budget? Who knows? A team who's budget is in the top 25% of the league. It'll also be a team with a decent strike force, defence and goalie, so some pressure now on DC to deliver some further decent signings this summer, as at least another 4 or 5 quality signings required.

I've said this for a while now, L1 will be much more difficult next season than it was last season.
You would expect Posh and Charlton to improve and Oxford were doing well towards the end too!
We would have to improve quite a lot just to attain the same league position imo, that's why Sercombe being our no1 target doesn't fill me with confidence.

DC is going to stay, why would he be looking for a house in Bristol Some very nice houses in Almondsbury. If I was DC, I would be looking for a beautiful house on the outskirts of Frome, close enough for an easy commute into the training ground but just far enough to be able to enjoy a tranquil getaway from the day to day pressures of football management in complete privacy.
As it happens I have just the thing................ going for an absolute song too
