Think that all three that came up automatically will challenge this season .... Huge statement of intent from Portsmouth and already Doncasters manager Darren Ferguson has said they will " be going all out for promotion". Plymouth are a dangerous team who will adapt to L1 like we did ..... throw in Bradford, Southend, Wigan, Blackburn maybe Rochdale and some team that will surprise every one and next season will be a tough ask.
I've said this for a while now, L1 will be much more difficult next season than it was last season.
You would expect Posh and Charlton to improve and Oxford were doing well towards the end too!
We would have to improve quite a lot just to attain the same league position imo, that's why Sercombe being our no1 target doesn't fill me with confidence.
Was Sercombe THE number one target for the summer ? DC did say in an interview he had targets one,two and three for each of the 11 vacancies he wanted to fill. So LS may well be the number one target for the attacking midfield vacancy but not anymore important than any of the other number one targets that get signed hopefully.

You'd have expected Posh to be stronger last season though, plus MK Dons although Charlton seem another Orient to me, personally I'd take losing Sheff Utd & Bolton over anything we will face this season. If we get off to good start for a change then I can't see we really need to fear anybody this season if DC gets his summer recruitment right, as any one of about 10 teams could finish in the top 3.

I don't see why it would be any harder or easier next season. At the end of the day it's the third division and everyone is there on merit. We've lost some big clubs in Bolton, sheff Utd and gained some in Pompey, Wigan etc.

I hope not. Not saying he wasn't a bad L2 player but I don't think he is worth £150k, especially as he is still unproven at L1 level at 27.

What's unproven about 130+ games at L1 level?

What's unproven about 130+ games at L1 level? Agree. The bloke was in league 2 team of the year 15/16. Him and Roofe were Oxford's key men that season. Onewent for £3.5m, the other we have signed for £150k, can't complain too much.

What's unproven about 130+ games at L1 level? Even Exeter fans are 50/50 about him. Hardly proven enough to blow £150k imo

LMW, How on earth did Rovers threaten the Play-off positions/come 10th in L1 with virtually a whole squad of "unproven L1 players"?

Hardly any of our players are/were proven at LG1 level this time last year yet we competed very well. This guy has plenty of experience.

Having looked at "pirate" s post of the amount of money Bournemouth spent getting out of league one ...about £3million over two seasons on transfers. The money spent last season plus this season so far and Rovers are still a long way off £1million. DC likes a bargain,,,but it may be the £150,000 price tag might be a standard fee Rovers start to pay out from now on.After all,the idea is to improve the squad .
So out of curiosity what do people value our current midfield players at...if for example Bradford or Rotherham or Plymouth or any league one or two club say wanted to buy one of them ?
Sinclair ? £50,000 Lines ? £20,000 O. Clarke ? £100,000 Bodin ? £250,000 Moore ? £10,000 Broom ? £10,000
Added some figures to get the ball rolling.....
