Haha. That says it all. They can afford to fork out 9M for a single player and we haven't got a pot to p**s in. To bounce between the championship and league 1 every now and then with the money they have is embarrassing. To be honest were a million miles off of finding out just how difficult it is to compete with the teams coming down from the prem with their parachute payments and I fear we will never get to find out. I'd like to join your laughing at them, but cant really see how any of us can !! Sheeeed

We would have scored a second had the ref not blown, as another Sammy Igoe was about to happen. Thought their keeper was great would think about going in for him as they are skinter than us. A massive difference when Easter replaced Taylor, think that I would rather Taylor go out on loan and get Blissett and Lucas chomping at the bit to get on. we have Manse still to come back but things are looking good, James Clarke has been a great buy. Don't agree with loaning out Taylor at all! And don't forget that Easter came on just after they were down to ten men so a bit unfair to compare. Correct a loan would be stupid. Selling would be better ;-)

He has been told to find a new club. Who told you that?

He was offered to Grimsby pre season and a deal agreed but he turned them down I'm glad he turned them down. Finally gets into the league I can imagine he wants to prove he can play at this level. I hope he gets the chance.

I would change the 2 strikers. Blissett and Harrison for me. Its been a long season and Mattteee could do with a rest. Not sure if you actually like blissett, but I do and hope he at least gets a chance soon.

Yes I have played the game. You say taylor didn't have an open goal until his second touch? Why take the touch? Just pass it into the net? And how can a one on one take him by surprise? Was he surprised he actually got pass the keeper? He has no composure in front of goal. Again Ellis maybe should have scored, but to say it was easier than Taylor's is wrong IMO. The header from the defender was the surprise. I don't think he meant that second touch? I have watched both chances loads now and would take Ellis if I had the choice. Being right footed aswell! I Agree to disagree? Lol. I just feel for him to be through on goal and not even have a shot is poor. Good debate though

Ellis had the simpler chance?? Taylor had an open goal! Have you played the game? If so, watch the replay and put yourself in each position. Personally, I would take Ellis' chance as an easier one for me. They are both very good opportunities to score but Matty didn't have an open goal once the little second touch took it away from him since big guy was just about there. On his left foot, slightly wide, it came to him by surprise. Ellis was a planned chance and he had time, strikers dream gk in no mans land, simple lob. I think Matty gets more stick because a) someone has to b) he misses more chanced and c) he's not as popular. Yes I have played the game. You say taylor didn't have an open goal until his second touch? Why take the touch? Just pass it into the net? And how can a one on one take him by surprise? Easter and Harrison all day for me, Taylor wont get the 5 chances a game he needed to score last season, in league two chances are not as easy to come by as we seen the quality of the two CBs for northampton. That has little to do with the quality of Northamptons cbs, more to do with our hoof approach on that day. All of our strikers should benefit from service from our wingers once the team figures out how to use them effectively. On Northampton, Taylor and Harrison had 1 chance each, some might say Ellis was a simpler chance? They both failed to execute what should have been goals. Ellis had the simpler chance?? Taylor had an open goal!!

Tom at centre back is fine, as he has shown when he first started he was good there. But if DC doesn't play him there, he shouldn't be anywhere near centre mid! Well done last night Tom in your correct position.

(taken from Facebook Page Poster Yesterday - Could not have put it better myself) 29th April 2015 after just 17 minutes Matty Taylor opens the scoring for Bristol Rovers in the 1st leg of the Conference National league play off semi final. 3rd May 2015 Matty Taylor scores in the 88th minute to put Bristol Rovers 3-0 in the Play-off semi-final and put the tie beyond the reach of FRG. 17th May 2015 Matty Taylor steps up and scores Bristol Rovers 2nd Penalty of their Play-off Final against Grimsby at Wembley. Read this and think about how frickle it is to focus on one miss! But it's not just one miss. It's a build up of many many misses.

F*ck me he could have ran it in... He definitely can use his left foot too (that goal at FGR in the playoffs). I guess that was what he thought, then the defender got back quicker then he expected, still don't know why he didn't still blast it at the goal at that point. Because he shits himself in front of goal. Zero composure.

my problem with Taylor as he isn't good enough in front of goal. he scored goals last season against teams who were significantly poorer organised and when he didn't have time to think. one on one he is very poor and today that miss was inexcusable. Why he didn't hit with his left foot is beyond me and tbh the problem in this league as you will get less chances and you must take them, if our single chance comes to Taylor then he won't score more often than he will. Also tactics were poor, we didn't have enough drive from the midfield and Mildy's kicking was atrocious. Plus side I am sure we will learn quickly and DC will sort but we look like we need more quality to have a comfortable year. How many shot on target did easter have - a big fat Zero Spent more time on his arse by diving yet no one is slagging him to death Taylor didn't have a shot on target yet was through on goal against an empty net! Very poor

Same as me. Only little difference is I feel sorry for both new wingers as they got zero service and 4 players around them all the time. Also thought Sinclair wasn't as bad as you say, and actually got passed his man a few times until he got moved to the left.

A lot of people are sounding a lot like me. With reference to our p**s poor excuse for a striker. I think a few agreed with you tbf. Maybe not the onslaught of abuse for him on here, but the fact he isn't good enough.

Absolutely pathetic game, had to be JJ that scored. Taylor was poor, but then, so was everyone A poor miss by him but Taylor was a damn sight better than the totally ineffective Bodin, I can't honestly see what extra he brings to the front line when we've already got Easter & Taylor. Surely with the hoof ball we were playing Bliss was the ideal man to replace Taylor, or even earlier Easter. How anyone can say taylor is better than anyone is beyond me. For me our worst player.
