FFS grow up man, what’s the f**ks wrong with you? Win next week and we’re on the bus again UTG! I agree with yategasman , tinker man lost us the game against Shrewsbury with daft and needless subs and changing formation and has done so again today I just don't understand the way he thinks Ok then so what about when 'tinkerman' as you like to call him, changes personnel/ tactics and we go on to win the games like midweek! Sometimes you have to take the rough with the smooth, we all know Darrell is not afraid to gamble and go for the win when we're in with a chance of winning it, personally I'd much rather have someone like him who is not afraid to change personnel/ tactics in order to get us 3 points, than someone who will just sit back and see the game out for 1 point! How many games have we won this season when Darrell roles the dice and we score goals late on. We can't win them all but Darrell deserves a lot more credit and respect than he gets from some on here.

Just a quick one really, just wanted to say thanks to all the mods that take the time to make this the best football forum in the world! I know it may not always seem like it but your work is greatly appreciated by all of us! Thank you to the fellow gasheads who make this a great place to come and have a sensible debate (most of the time). Thank you to the fans that travel to games and post live updates of the matches for fans that cannot be at the games for whatever reasons! Finally Thank you Darrell Clarke and the players for the amazing hard work and effort you are all putting in! Big game today going for a tight hard fought 2-1 victory to the gas. Sercombe and Bennett with the goals! UTG

Wouldn't it just be even better if they missed out on the play offs on the final day of the season as Billy bob scores to send Preston into the playoffs as city slump downwards yet again! UTG

I guess in a way it doesn't matter what other clubs have to spend on players. Rovers only have the money they have earned ,so that's all there is to spend. Improving what the club earns will increase what the club spends on players. The most obvious thing will be ticket prices going up in line with other clubs ,a team in the south needs to be charging 15% higher on the same type of tickets as those in the north. Rovers "appear" to be charging less than those in the north in many cases. Not good news for fans but that's the reality if Rovers are to compete on a level playing field whilst at a small stadium.
After that its over to the commercial managers to start bringing in more money and maybe diversify the portfolio.
Perhaps we just need to boost attendances to 9000, how hang on DC's done that already! Again the transfer budget it decided on many more factors than a clubs attendances alone.

I didn’t realise you’d moved to Nailsea Darrell. Well I had to move outside of Bristol due to all the criticism I was getting, for me, Bristol is a wonderful city having said that it just got too much so had to move away but within driving distance.

Most of us were predicting slow action in the transfer window, purely based on past history. DC is even slow in the summer window and failed to sign a permanent keeper a couple of seasons back. Nobody else seems to be having problems? We are weaker than we were when Bodin was here, and even then we still needed 3-4 new players! We failed so sign a permanent keeper for years after Steve Phillips left and then the one we did finally get was Bevan, and he wasn't great let's be honest. I remember people say Bury were going to be a force with the signing they made in the summer, and now they're struggling big time. Agreed we're weaker than we started the window, but if players don't want to play for us, then tbf DC's hands are tied.

The criticism is warranted due to his inability in the summer transfer dealings which has seen us with the most unbalanced team we have had during his tenure. Perhaps he is setting out with unrealistic targets? His interviews for me are one excuse after another and are now becoming boring and almost edge on displaying a falling out with the owners. Now this may be way off the truth but certainly the sign language has not been that of a set up where all is well and certainly way off the optimism that was there last season. I totally respect your opinion Steve, but I have to disagree with the criticism of DC, for me he's doing a fine job with the poor finances he's clearly been given in the transfer market. Yes we all expected this season to be better, but it's not turned out that way. I also believe everything is not as it should be, but I believe this is down to the board/ Hamer saying one thing one interview then totally contradicting it in the next. How can anybody know where they stand especially DC I really feel he's pulled the short straw on this one.

Who is actually criticising DC it is the apparent lack of support for me by the owners which is the concern, with a top 5 average home attendance but are in get danger if finishing a bottom 4 club if DC's not allowed to bring 2 or 3 more quality players in January, as the Bola's & Telford's of this world simply aren't good enough. There have been fans saying Darrell hasn't signed enough players, it's extremely poor, not good enough etc. Yes we're all frustrated at the lack of activity but what do people want? In seasons gone by we would be throwing money at players looking for one last pay packet, or injury prone players on big wages. DC has finally stopped this and rightly so. For years people have been saying stop spending money on so called higher division players, and that they want players who wear the shirt with pride. Listen, I'm not saying I'm not frustrated because that would be a lie, and the board really aren't helping matters ATM. We've finally got a team who want to play for the shirt, yes they may not be the most technically gifted, but they're working for each other. The team spirit is as high as I've seen it for many Years.

Listen, for me, Darrell has come under a lot of criticism recently some fair and some very unfair. Firstly his team selections, now let's be honest he's the one that sees the players day in day out and we all know he likes to pick different players based on the opposition we are playing. This is just something we all need to realise and accept really. Secondly, he's come out this week and given all of us fans some information. Now, look, for me, this is where the criticism is unfair he's come out and said he's trying to sign players, but they don't want to come here, whether that's down to wages, or bigger clubs after the same players. (yes believe it or not there are bigger clubs than the mighty gas out there). The point I'm trying to make is people on here saying we want communication and when Darrell does this the same people are still moaning! He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't, he's come out and given everyone an update and let everyone know what's happening in the transfer market, but it's still not good enough for some of us! It's clear he's trying to attract the right type of players for Bristol Rovers, not just any old Tom, Dick or Harry! So let's get behind the boys we have got and the manager knowing that they're doing their best for the club we all love! UTG!

Guess that will answer the question of which shop DC took his trolley around. I've got to say I found that comment from DC a bit strange because regardless of where he's shopping, the bottom line is you wouldn't just go to Aldi and buy a sandwich just because it was cheap and therefore probably not even eat it and just throw it out. I guess what I'm trying to say is DC isn't just going to sign a player just for the sake of signing him because he can afford it, Clarke will do his homework and he'd have to be a Clarke type player in terms of attitude/ work rate. Fans have been saying they want us to sign young hungry up and coming talent from non league rather than someone dropping down the leagues looking for their last pay packet. So please if the guy doesn't get off to the best of starts give him a chance and get behind him and the rest of the boys. UTG!

Would it be fair to say that sometimes these threads go off on a tangent? Would it be fair to say the top picture is David Luiz?

Certainly not I heard we've sent him out there to find Fabian Broghammer, but he's a very difficult guy to find.
