Quick update on the meeting with Steve Hamer I've posted on the open letter thread.
I'll release the audio of it as soon as I can edit it down. Hopefully next week.

Went OK. I've got about an hour and a half of audio to cut down. Some of it is unusable due to quality. I'll release it as soon as I can. Working away this week so it won't be until next week I would imagine.

I suppose I asked for that sort of reply. I'll word things a little more carefully next time! Seriously though, I'd sign him on a loan deal if it meant us securing our League One status. I just hate the idea of any City player wearing the quarters. Dunno if I could put that to one side to be honest. You're a bigger man than I!

I wouldn't want a city player on loan here no matter how good they are. Even if it was the difference between going down and staying up? Sophie's choice there

Wasn't there a 'gentleman's agreement' after the snake saga which means the two Bristol clubs wont have any transfer dealings between each other? Maybe its voided as the teds don't have any gentleman to keep the agreement running? So we don't deal with the nearest source of quality loan signings because of something which happened ages ago..madness I wouldn't want a city player on loan here no matter how good they are.

I did notice a reduction in the time to get served by the huts on the east terrace.
I normally don't bother cause the queues are so long so that's £4 the club had off me they normally wouldn't get.

Just to play devil's advocate - if (and it's a big if) the board said that all funds raised at the Port Vale game would go to GC for transfers would those choosing to boycott change their mind and actually attend? I realise it's not going to be a massive amount of money but it might be enough to tip the balance for one player. I'd send them the money direct rather than attend

Thanks for the write up Steve.
Let's hope that GC is able to make some signings. Not holding out much help as we need to move players on first.

www.change.org/p/wael-al-qadi-open-letter-to-the-board-of-bristol-rovers-football-club/u/23860806Looks like this has just ticked over 1000 signatures. Huge thanks to everyone who has signed and remember its not too late to add your signature if you haven't already. Me and Steve have arranged to meet before the Wycombe home game. I'll be taking notes and will feedback on the outcomes (if any). I'm aiming to impress on Steve the importance of the fans knowing what the boards long term plan is and how we can open up lines of communication going forward. If there are any burning questions you think I should ask, feel free to add to this thread. Cheers Tom It should be stressed about the 'quality' of communication also: make sure you mention the statement last January about the consultants, the interview with Wael in August, the Hamer interviews and the statement about the magical piece of land at Christmas. Ask Steve how all that looks from a supporter's point of view: we are being told stuff that could be made up or simply being told nothing at all. One on it's own is nothing, however when you get a years worth of these types of communications it starts to seem like a tactic. If the board want the full support of the fans (although they probably don't care) then we need communication of substance. Perfect thanks!

Fingers crossed I can make some headway. I think some basic communication isn't asking too much, but if it was that easy it would have been done already! Don't want to get too personal Tom, but are you married? I'm not. Did my statement there give it away?

Tommy I admit I haven't signed (laziness/apathy primary factor); however I took part in some of the meetings at the Welly when Mark Cz and Jon-the-stripe (FFFS) were investigating options of assisting the "old" board. The difficulties even then with a BoD that allegedly communicated were manifold and led to the whole thing being put to bed, I wish you well in your attempts to gain traction with this matter. Phil Fingers crossed I can make some headway. I think some basic communication isn't asking too much, but if it was that easy it would have been done already!

Thanks to everyone who has signed so far. If you haven't yet then please do as more signatures will make the board take more notice. Here is the email I've sent to Steve Hamer this afternoon: Hi Steve, I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year. I'm writing to you today to present this open letter to the board signed by almost 1000 fans: www.change.org/p/wael-al-qadi-open-letter-to-the-board-of-bristol-rovers-football-clubThis letter clearly states out where we think the failings of the boards communication have been and where this can be improved. Since this petition was started we have had an update on the stadium and training ground which is a case in point about the communication issues. On the 23rd of December the club put out this statement: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/december/club-statement/ The timing, coming after a crucial win made supporters feel like it had been held back until there was some good news to report. It states that the club is working hard towards a site for the stadium and training ground which is good news in itself. However this contradicts statements about re-developing the Mem and it doesn't update supporters on the status of the Colony. If supporters were kept in the loop that you were holding off on developing the Colony while other sites are investigated then there would be a lot less frustration about it doing nothing except growing weeds. I am happy to speak to you over the phone or in person to speak about the above. Cheers Tom

Agree that lines deliveries are better than upsons.
They are both bloody awful though!

Thanks for the write up Steve.
I would have knocked Kelly down a point as he got caught out a few times, however as a young lad breaking through its to be expected.
Really thought we looked worse when Lines came on. Sits way too deep which unbalanced our midfield.
