Hi Gasheads, I was invited in to chat to Steve and Ken about the petition and below is the audio from that chat. This was before the Wycombe game and I can only apologise for the delay in releasing this. Life has gotten in the way. Heads up this has been edited as some of the recording was of too poor a quality to use unfortunately. The below link is for the audio: gas-cast.co.uk/blog/2019/02/06/tom-metcalfe-chats-to-steve-hamer-and-ken-masters/Since this chat Steve has tasked the head of media with arranging regular i.e bi monthly fans forums. Hopefully this will go someway to opening the lines of communication between the board and us fans. Thanks to all that have signed and shares. I've appreciated all the support this petition has received. Cheers and UTG Tom

"Never been to the Memorial, will be doing League and Cup. Very excited as this is going to be a very old fashioned stadium"
I hope they don't get their hopes up too much.

When I'm in charge I'm going to put a 12 hour ban on anyone who quotes Steve's reports instead of just replying. When I'm in charge it will be death

Been banging them in for Orient. Would much rather have Danny Rowe from Fylde, but the lad knows where the net is!

Went OK. I've got about an hour and a half of audio to cut down. Some of it is unusable due to quality. I'll release it as soon as I can. Working away this week so it won't be until next week I would imagine. So what's happened to this, are we actually going to hear what SH had to say given that we now seem to be reaching crisis point as a club? Still working on it. Should be out this week

You have to assume they do. The main logic is that a club or asset is worth more in league one than in league two

Not quite fact I don't think. Not sure what the daily mail says but blackboards are correctly termed chalkboard not because it's racist but because they can come in different colours (green For example). They weren't removed from schools because they are racist but because whiteboards were installed which are obviously better fit for purpose as I recall. Happy to be pointed towards the facts though if you'd care to share. also says in the 80s a group of far left labour members wanted it band cause they deemed it racist My old maths teacher had a whiteboard because he was allergic to chalk The snowflake

In Episode 41 of GasCast, we discuss the poor performance against Wycombe Wanderers, and our concerns over the worryingly quiet transfer window to date; as The Gas are the only team in League One not to make a signing yet. We also give our thoughts on the Checkatrade Trophy, and whether we would attend a final at Wembley Stadium. Max Alderson hosts alongside Harley Thorne and Tom Metcalfe. gas-cast.co.uk/blog/podcast/41-the-wembley-dilemma/

Signed on a free transfer for Bolton pre season and only made 15 appearances. Always been impressed when I’ve seen him, worth a punt, sure Bolton be glad to get someone off wages that doesn’t play Maybe we could use some of the checkatrade money to get him. oh maybe not. it would upset our boycott brigade that we are trying to improve the club Don't be a bellend

I'm really not confident well have anyone in by the end of the window.
Seeing as we had to move players on, we've dropped Broadbent and Martin. Can't see us getting a decent player in on thier combined wage

It is a little bit more flexible this season, but we still can't send out our youngsters like we used to be able to in the JPT days Meanwhile players like Charlie Adam can play for the prem teams under 23s. How is that nurturing youth talent and helping the England squad? You can play 6 now. The fines only £1000 anyway isn't it?? The extra money just for taking part, will more than cover that anyway. That's why some teams do just make 11 changes. Can't really play the whole youth team now anyway, as teams have bigger squad now. So need to keep the squad happy as well. Playing with Charlie Adams will obviously help the youth player's. That's why they can play a few. It's obvious they will learn playing with more experienced player's and against them. In that case loan them out or leave them at the clubs they are developing in. The main reason these teams are included is because they aren't getting the experience in their academy teams. Hopefully the limits on how many youth players you can have will go some way to making sure the PL teams don't hoover up all the talented players from the lower leagues at a young age.

The rules have changed since then. You don't have to play as many and you can play any keeper. Think you only have to play 5 that are classed as first team. There are more ways that they are classed as first team players now. You don't have to have played in the last game etc. It is a little bit more flexible this season, but we still can't send out our youngsters like we used to be able to in the JPT days Meanwhile players like Charlie Adam can play for the prem teams under 23s. How is that nurturing youth talent and helping the England squad?
