He’s a legend and will go on to great things. Shame it ended how it did.

Glad to hear DC is not going to be rushed back into football and is taking a well earned break before taking up the reins again somewhere, perhaps with us next season!!!!

Thank you for sharing this, CPG. I signed up to the forum to share the link, and I was beaten to it!
I had a fantastic few hours in Darrell's company. A Gas fan I know commented that he looks 10 years younger already - and he was full of energy. A fantastic character whose eyes lit up when he talked about the success you all shared, and was very circumspect and accepting of what happened this season and his departure. Hope to spend more time with him in the future, and can't wait to see where he ends up next.
Thanks also for all of your kind comments so far about the interview.

Still wish he was here , the bloke is the best thing to ever happen to our club ! Yeah he got it wrong this year , but I know who I would want at the helm next year in league two and it ain’t GC

Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed listening to it, and whilst of course I am rooting for GC to be a success with us, I have to admit that I miss DC as I expected I would. He's such a likeable charismatic bloke who brought such great times and memories for us. I hope he goes onto have a successful career at a high level because he deserves it. I hope the Gas cross paths with him again with us both in a higher league.

As a young manager you learn from your mistakes. When certain scenarios start to develop at DCs next club he may be able to spot them and and put procedures in place to stop issues evolving. It’s unlucky for us we ended up with scenarios that DC couldn’t rectify but it’s the learning process that will be beneficial to him in the long run. It’s great to hear he seems to have that infectious energy back. I do fear he may not make it to the top as the wealthy owners and their CEO henchmen seem to prefer yes men, DC is certainly not that! The days of the likes of Sir AF telling their board of directors what they wanted and when they want it by are gone. Anyway I am sure we will watch DCs progression with interest and clap and chant his name if/when he brings an oppo team to the Mem. THANK YOU DC !

As soon as I heard his voice again I actually felt a tad emotional! Like "what have we done?" It took me back to the radio interview with 20man which he referred to in this one which was the point for me, and many others, where I was sold on him.
I know it was probably right to move on at the time he did but my god I miss his unique style, I genuinely don't know if we will ever get a manager again who talks so well and honestly.
Listened to the whole thing and really enjoyed it, I hope he gets a job soon and I'll definitely be following his career and will probably develop a bit of a soft spot for his next team!

Can't we just get him back?
He's had a few weeks off....

Can't we just get him back? He's had a few weeks off.... When a manager is going through a rough patch, why not just send him home for a month or two to re-charge his batteries. The No.2 can run things in his absence. It has to be a better option than risking everything on an unproven manager.
