Sometimes you just have to forget about reality, about where you are in the grand scheme of things and just aim high. This lad has he right idea!

Jon the Stripe Quartermaster Finnish Gas @hugotheelder All your requests have been implemented. With some difficulty I hasten to add Mr Quartermaster! We only have RoverDrive to thank for digging me out of an html code shaped hole. You will now find the site more navigable. As well as the 'back to top' arrow, we also now have the PAGE SCROLLER on the bottom of each thread. We also have a new button BACK TO GAS WORKS on the bottom of each thread that will take you back there. Thank you for helping us make this forum better for everyone. Ras. Many thanks Hugo Admin and RD for that, although I do feel a little guilty if I've caused you to waste hours of your time so that I can go back a page with one click instead of two!

Wouldn't hear me complaining about Wycombe being shafted though. That's the thing, it does give it all a bit of an extra edge as it's them! They're spitting feathers on their forum as far as I can see (one of those horrible to navigate ones). To be expected I suppose, but as it's them I felt less sympathy than I think I would have if it were a 'nothing' club. As you say the damage is done now so let's see where it takes us.

Just had a quick read of a couple of league and conference Facebook pages and one thing is for sure, this has been a very effective way of losing friends and becoming disliked in a few short hours. I don't see us shaking off the bad reputation from this for some time either, especially if we're successful, but probably if we're not too!

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I can only see us coming out of this looking like bad losers.

Apologies if this has been requested, but if I remember correctly there used to be a "back to Rovers talk" (or similar) button at the bottom of rovers talk pages on the old forum. That was really useful as it took you straight back to the topic menu for that section after you'd read a post without having to go back to the top.
Would it be possible to have one here (someone may well tell me there is one and I've not spotted it!)
Ta muchly!

Looking forward to seeing him back. Also hoping for another rendition of that great song which compares his attributes to his then midfield partner James Hunt!

Test it with your kids. My son can't see the issue; he'd never heard of Rochdale or Accrington anyway! The innocence of youth, wish I'd never grown up Very true. When I take my kids one always asks who we're playing. When I tell them the response is always "ok". I don't think their response will be any different when I have to tell them Braintree or Dover instead of Oxford or Southend. The innocence of youth indeed!

Naturally the 82ers have all the ammunition at the moment when it comes to p*** taking, but this must have some caption competition potential!... l..

The end to our season really has brought out the full spectrum of emotions and left us all in very different places. Thankfully there seems to be a good amount of sensible optimism, hopefully we'll all get to that stage and soon. It'd be helped greatly by a good summer in the transfer market as well as in local construction of course!......

True. Let's hope we beat a few more this year though and aren't sandwiched between 2 teams at the end of the season! (At the right end of course!)

I know what you mean, but somehow seeing us in a league table, a proper league table for our division, sandwiched between Dover Athletic and Braintree Town is a sobering sight!

If you're still in denial then you'll be happy to see that the BBC website still has us in League 2! However, if you can face it, Wikipedia has updated its Conference page... I thought I was at acceptance but seeing that table makes me feel otherwise. I'm just not ready!

So far..... Its like 6 degrees of separation. Can you get every thread to "Sack the board" within 6 posts. It normally takes 1. I thought every thread here is supposed to end with tits? If it's always going to end in sack the board then I want my subs back!

Best of luck to him. If he ever returns to the Mem (I guess an FA Cup 1st round tie would be most likely if we get that far) he'll get a great reception. Can't fault his commitment and is capable of so much more than 5th tier football (or even 4th!).
