I guess any team which has 3 or more players called up could request games to be called off, but that could mean not playing for the duration of the tournament or until sufficient players return early. Unless those rules have been suspended/changed for the World Cup? That said, clubs at our level tend to lose players for U21 games/ friendlies so probably less chance of it happening during a full World Cup, with counties playing their strongest senior squads. My biggest fear is losing Aaron to Wales for a number of weeks! He would only be missing during the group stage (first 10 days or so)

Any one know if it will be pay on the day? The website says it hasn't heard whether it will be or not yet. Pay on Day at the turnstiles (Cash Only) for Wednesday, no pay on the day at Derby

Football referees are really poor.
I accept they will get decisions wrong, we all get things wrong.
What I don't like about refereeing in football is the inconsistency, not only from ref to ref but from a referee in the same game.
He will book a player for a certain foul and then not book someone else that has made a similar foul or worse.
They let fouls happen at every corner or free kick into the box but will penalise the same foul when out of the box
They will tell a player to move to a spot to take a free kick or throw in on one occasion and then ignore it the next.
And they don't manage injuries/play acting very well
Football can learn a lot from Rugby Union on how to officiate games, they don't always get it right in Rugby but they get it right a lot more often than in football
The Football law makers need to help the refs too, e.g. again like in Rugby, if they used the "time off, time on" when their is a break in play and took the time keeping away from the ref there would be less play acting and the paying public would be getting better value for their money

Anyone recommend any decent pubs for Derby Away? Expecting to arrive at ground 2 hours before KO, so don't want to be going into city too far.... Cheers With Pride Park being located in a retail park/industrial estate then there is little choice in the way of drinking outlets. Pete Stump informs me; ‘On a recent visit, the police directed us to a “Harvester” about five minutes walk away from the stadium. It was full of away fans, however, we were told that they don’t always admit visiting supporters.’ Nigel Summers a visiting Brighton fan adds; ‘The Navigation Inn on London Road, is okay for away supporters. It has free street parking outside, is on the A6 (so an easy getaway after the game) and it is just a ten minute walk away from the stadium. There is a basic burger and chips food menu, decent beers, including Doom Bar on my last visit and shows televised football. Home fans also frequent the pub, but it was friendly enough.’ Across the road from the Navigation Inn is the Derby Conference Centre which has a bar facility inside and welcomes visiting supporters. You can also park at the centre at a cost of £5. A discount off a particular beer inside the centre is sometimes offered for those who park there. There are a few pubs opposite Derby Railway Station, but they are for home supporters only. A couple of exceptions are the Station Inn on Midland Road and a little further along the Tiffany Lounge, both of which are only a few minutes walk away. If not wearing colours and arriving early then further along the Railway Terrace you may be able to enjoy a decent ale at the Brunswick Inn or the nearby Alexandra Hotel, both of which are included in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. If you have time on your hands and don’t arrive mob-handed, then it may be best to wander into the city centre where there are plenty of pubs to be found. Jon Thompson a visiting Sheffield United fan informs me; ‘We ended up in the Exeter Arms on Meadow Road, which I’d highly recommend, is about a 15 minute walk from there to Pride Park.’ There are bars at the back of the stands, offering pints of Lager or Cider (both £4.30), however they do get, quite crowded. If you enjoy your real ale, then Derby is somewhat of a ‘Mecca’ destination for the discerning drinker. With a staggering 18 pub entries in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, most of which are located fairly central, plus a host of other good pubs too, it may be an idea to arrive earlier and explore some of these fine watering holes. If arriving by train from Birmingham New Street, then another alternative is to stop off at Burton-on-Trent. There are a few good pubs within a couple of minutes walk from the station, including the Last Heretic on Station Street (just turn right out of the station and it is down on the right. This pub serves real ale, cider, craft lagers and has a large beer garden.

My blood pressure is fine thanks. Not sure how yours holds up with everyone knowing you are a liar, a troll and a fantasist. I’ll stop ‘biting’ when you come out and admit you made up that Wael was secretly plotting to build a housing estate at the quarters. You might feel better getting that off your chest? Meanwhile we have a ground that is an absolute embarrassment and we haven’t heard a peep from the president about changing that for what is it, 3 years, or maybe 4 years? Anyone on here who questions or criticises that and you just jump down their throat. There is zero pressure from most of our fans to resolve, I think a lot of people are quite happy that we play in a shithole with no hope of sustaining football above the current level. We don’t need a swanky new state of the art stadium, just one fit for the 21st century! Aug 3, 2019 at 2:21pm

Fulham winger Sylvester Jasper, who made just six substitute appearances for Bristol Rovers in League One, has denied Barton's reasons for his early return to west London Joey Barton has confirmed that Bristol Rovers have sent loanee Sylvester Jasper back to Fulham after the winger declared to him he was unhappy over his lack of first-team minutes.
Jasper signed for the Gas on summer transfer deadline day and has made six substitute appearances in League One, playing 80 minutes in total, and two starts in the EFL Trophy, including against Swindon Town on Tuesday night.
In the wake of that performance the 21-year-old appears to have communicated his frustration to Barton with a lack of first–team involvement and Rovers have made the decision to send him back to west London after just seven weeks. Bristol Live understands that the loan has not been formally terminated but there appears no way back for the winger who, in a social media post, has appeared to deny Barton's version of events.
“He wasn’t happy with the minutes he was getting and he’s gone back to Fulham,” Barton said, following Rovers’ 2-2 draw with Plymouth Argyle at the Mem. “He’s obviously got disappointed and if you’re not happy… crack on. We’ve got Scott Sinclair, we just keep moving forward. We’ve made the decision.
“I get when people aren’t playing, they get disappointed. I mean, Josh Coburn was disappointed he’s not playing today, we’ve probably got eight-nine lads disappointed they’re not playing but you’ve got to channel that into performance and what you can’t do is allow the outside world to see that disappointment.
“We’re moving really fast here and if you want to be part of this, then you’ve got to buy into it absolutely. If not then you can crack on and there are 91 other professional clubs you can go and play for.”
But a few minutes after the club tweeted confirmation of Jasper's exit due to a frustration over a lack of minutes, he replied on the social media platform, he replied with the message: "That's not the reason why I'm back at Fulham. However, I want to thank everyone involved at Bristol for their support during my time there, and I wish the club all the best for the future." Jasper’s departure has also coincided with the arrival of Scott Sinclair on a short-term deal until January with the 33-year-old making his second debut for the Gas with an appearance off the bench in injury time against Plymouth.
That was Sinclair’s first competitive game since the end of April, when he was still under contract at Preston North End, and as Barton indicated through the week, Rovers’ new No7 will need time to get up to full match speed.
Sinclair effectively took Jasper’s place in the matchday 18, with Barton claiming the former loanee’s attitude ran contrary to the team spirit and character he’s built and will continue to develop at the Gas.
“We have an ethos and principles here and if those aren’t respected then we don’t want you in our football club,” Barton added. “He’s a talented boy, he’ll have a decent career and he’ll learn valuable lessons. It’s been explained to Fulham the reasons why and we wish him well. He had a couple of cameos for us but we have a lot of good players here and we haven’t got time to waste on disappointment.”

Has anyone really explained the short deal? Wasn't it reported that Scott wanted a short term deal to put himself in the shop window with the view to a move to the championship for the latter part of the season as he feels he can still operate at that level?
