Surprised Hartley isn't included as thought his experience would be useful tonight. Also fancied him to pop one in at a set piece. That has to be one of the youngest set of centre backs we've ever put out.

Tuesday 1st Nov. 7:45 International commitments - is that for us or them? Ellis, Tom and Connor Roberts is the requisite 3 I suppose. With the size of squad we have now really can't see that DC would have asked for the game to moved. Bloody stupid rule at Div 1 or 2 level, should only apply to Premier and Championship I reckon.

Sounds a tidy signing. Browner can have a well deserved rest now when we play Reading Under-9's next week.

October: from octo meaning eight. Strange name, then, for the tenth month. But, in Roman times October was the eighth month of a ten month year. Isn't that interesting? Does anyone know anything else interesting about October? Anything. ANY THING? I think I've worked it out. It's a Ted Rogers 321 type clue... October is the tenth month...but it is also an album by the Irish rock band U2...who had a hit with The Streets Have No Name...a song about New York...New York Stadium is the new home of Rotherham United and is the most RECENT football league ground build in England...until OCTOBER when work will begin on the NEXT new football ground, the UWE Have I won the holiday or is it the Dusty Bin? 😂

Interesting signing. Would have thought he'd be first choice. A little unfair on Mildy - a good performance from him last night. I'm sure Mildy knew DC was looking to bring another keeper. He's been around the game long enough to know he'd get some competition.

Golden rule for cider (and lager & ale)...when it's starting to be sold in cans its dead ,which is a shame. Not a big drinker but a cold bottle of Katy is nice on a hot day. Three bottles of Katy for a Fiver in the Co-Op right now. Stocked up earlier that's the weekend sorted 😃

All this talk of 3 or 4 signings didn't sound like the Dc way to me, I can see us bringing in 1 or 2 players at best,as apart from LB we seem to now have cover for every position. Bolton up next could be a good test for the present squad. I always thought that "3 or 4 signings" remark was more a gee up to the current squad. DC's way of finding out who was going to sink or swim, as he put it.

Only had a chance now to look back on this thread. Some of the comments made when the lineup was announced are unbelievable, some people really need to have a word with themselves. MT didnt have much of a pre-season so no surprise he needed a breather after 120 minutes the other night. We need ALL the squad at this level too so let's trust DC to know when's best to rotate. I was confident Easter could rise to the occasion and ensure MT was good for Bolton, a much tougher proposition, on Wednesday.

With the results Sunthorpe had toward the end of last season, I was thinking we may be on for a tough aftetnoon with a narrow defeat most likely, 2-1 say. But No Paddy Madden today for the Iron according to match preview in local rag... m.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/s/story-29588887-detail/story.htmlIf so, I think 1-1 sounds about right.
