everytime somebody signs a player, someone says "we missed out on him" jesus!!! If we don't sign a player, is it because we don't want him, don't want to be held to ransom by his agent/club, it's a journalist rumour or proof that the new owners haven't got the money we thought they have? I've not detected anything in what DC has said about signings to suggest he's been hampered by lack of funds. I think DC wants to give the current squad every chance to prove themselves at this level. Reckon he'll reassess after the first 2 or 3 games to see who is up to it and who isn't. Players at this level are often much of a muchness ability-wise so not losing any sleep over a few being snapped up already.

Surely they should have checked when the shirt was released a few months back? But they're Bristol Sport, they're Making Bristol Proud (TM). Arrogant lady gardens.

Bit misleading this thread title? Northampton may have an issue with their kit turning up for Saturday but we haven't.
BTW, anyone know which kit we'll be wearing at Scunthorpe?

When the season gets underway and players who were getting game time in friendliest are not getting FL minutes under their belt they will be having "clear the air" talks with their managers and if they are not in "immediate" plans will seek a loan or permanent move before the window shuts. That is when the quality players become available at an acceptable price. You can get quality players now ...but at twenty per cent more than you'll get them in four weeks time. This would be my guess too. Think DC will be looking at Championship players who haven't had a game after the first week or two of the season.

[quote author=" peterparker" fully agree. a twist on the quarters ala Sabadell every now and then isn't a bad idea and something I'd like. One Rovers kit and can be just any old one half the time. The light blue was a nice change, even if some people didn't like it and at least it had it's root in history. Personally I like the idea of a interlocking quarter or jagged edge to split it As long as we stay away from Tesco bag rubbish. [/quote] I like the interlocking/jagged edge idea. I think something where the quarters break up into a series of smaller quarters could like cool in the hands of a decent graphic designer.

I think Macron have done a good job with both kits within the 'evolution not revolution' brief they were no doubt given. With it being the new owners first kit release, I didnt expect anything too radical.
The home kit for me is 'classic' Rovers, the shade of blue chosen is pretty much spot on to the shirts I first saw us play in back in the late 70's. The rest of the kit being predominantly white gives it a very 'clean' look overall. The only bit Im not that keen on is the stripe down the side.
They've played it safe with the away one too. Bit too similar to last season's if anything, think black sleeves with yellow Macron logo would've given it a fresher look.
I hope next season the club are bold enough to try a bit of a twist on the usual look. I liked Sabadell's diagonal quarters for instance. Mot saying we should adopt it permanently but would hate to think we're not open to something a bit diffetent now and then.

Latest from club website, including news on kit discount...
"Don’t forget that on Monday 1st August we are hosting our Annual Open Day, offering all our fans the chance to come along and meet the Bristol Rovers First Team Squad and Management Team.
As always, Darrell Clarke and his players will be happy to stop for a chat, sign autographs and pose for any photo requests.
It will be the first opportunity to see our new kit and to purchase next season’s home or away shirt, or both!
There’s lots more to look forward to on Monday when The Club Shop will be open from midday. We will have a funfair in the main car park, dressing room tours, face painting, a BBQ and a raffle for a signed shirt.
In addition, the Supporters Club, Young Pirates and Helpline will be on hand to tell you about their respective organisations and hoping to recruit new members!
Darrell and the players will be meeting their shirt sponsors between 11.00am and midday and will then be available to meet supporters from midday – 3.00pm and the event will finish at 4.00pm.
The squad will be split into three groups, one in The Dribuild Suite, one in The Bristol Room and one in The Young Pirates Office.
They will be at each station for an hour (midday -1.00pm, 1.00pm – 2.00pm and 2.00pm – 3.00pm)
Please note that The Club Shop will only be open from midday and will close at 5.00pm.
Anyone visiting the shop between those hours on Monday will be given a discount off any home or away shirt purchased (Adult sizes will be £40.00, Juvenile sizes £30.00)"

If the UWE has fallen through, I don't see Wael developing the mem as an alternative. If the crowds grow, parking will be hideous. Me too. Footprint of Mem site simply not big enough to build the 25k+ capacity stadium they need to get the return they're after. IF the UWE deal doesn't happen can't see anything other than us pursuing an alternative S.Glos site

is that like the blue and gold dress? Educated guess that it is yellow and orange quarters made up of the different thickness of stripes. You heard it here first Well spotted, I hadn't noticed the difference between the Macron logo image and the one with the badge. Quarters home and away then, like it, here's hoping in green and black next season 😉

Are we going to have a plan back on our kit? or a panel for the number? seems to be new rules regarding the backs of shirts and it seems striped kits are seemingly having full colour backs (not sure if this depends on the colour contrasts) Blackburn Rovers don't look like they need a panel so hopwfully we shouldn't either i.imgur.com/uGjWdqx.jpg
