Seems like fans at a lot of clubs, including ours, still have quite a way to go. Shows why HerGameToo was desperately needed and so pleased how the campaign has gathered massive momentum. will that stop people finding her attractive? I blame the social media age where everything is based around how people look. Maybe we should all learn to enjoy what’s on the inside and then none of this abuse would happen? You can find a person attractive without shouting creepy things at them while they're at work.

Oh cry me a river. I was just making a ridiculous suggestion. Sick of people like you. We're sick of people like you. Thinking jokes that were fine in the 70s are acceptable now. Nobody should face abuse in their job, especially in the name of "banter".

Awesome idea for Step 3 and lower Non-league sides, sure Weston and their peers would much prefer not using the floodlights so often.
I do wonder if people would drink fewer pints at that time, and I know some people must watch the televised PL early KOs (otherwise they wouldn't pay for those channels, you'd imagine).
Guess it wouldn't affect clubs at Rovers' level to make it worthwhile changing things.

Wonder how many fans would have made their own decision and not feel it right to attend if games had gone ahead, enough to cost clubs a few bob i reckon. Any way it's gone now, hope you all survived, not so bad was it? just no game to moan about! Probably zero. I'm sure people would've wanted to attend and have a period of silence or applause, sing GSTQ, that kind of thing. Would you have gone, given the opportunity? I found it absolutely bizarre that we had to go to work, schools were open etc. etc. , but going to Weston vs. Chesham on Saturday? Supposedly too grief stricken for that.

The decision to cancel the games seems a bit silly seeing as the Rugby/Cricket/etc are going ahead Can't inconvenience the posh lot can we Tommy?

Have the woke brigade infiltrated the boardroom. Could the pirate be linked to slave trade or is the colour of the pirate wrong. Maybe multi coloured should suit the times Why are your lot so keen to admit you're racist homophobes? It's so weird, if I had some really unpleasant, outdated views, I wouldn't be shouting about them

Dave a SC stalwart on here has stated that some collectors are offering the cash option. They then use their own bank cards to pay the club the amount of the cash sales and then keep the cash for their own use. That's very good of them and no less than I'd expect of those excellent people who give up their time for the club. But they shouldn't have to do that. As for the club going totally cashless, that's not excusable I'm afraid. Other clubs, as well as music and other big venues/events do it. We can't moan about not moving with the times, then complain that we're stepping away from being "ragbag Rovers"

Yes. Judge for yourselves... One things for certain, Rossiter certainly bats the ball away. As for elbowing the guy through violent conduct, best of luck to the FA alleging the intent! As mentioned this is a dangerous precedent, they’ll be reviewing hundreds of these every week! I don't think intent comes into it. Or it shouldn't, in any case.

Only because it's been claimed on this thread that players can be retrospectively charged if the ref hasn't seen the incident. If the ref has seen the incident and called it 'wrong' then they can't be. The video doesn't show the refs face in shot at the time of the incident to show where he was looking, although I presume at the ball. I assume the refs done a Fergie and bottled it when asked why he didn't take any action but it's hard to believe he didn't see it, or the FA have told him to say he didn't see it, so they can give Rovers another kicking. Bit weird to suggest there's an FA conspiracy to get at Rovers. Not sure what "doing a Fergie" means, but the ref can't give something he hasn't seen. However, if some serious violent conduct has gone on, we'd want it spotted and dealt with since the technology exists.

We know it is the FCs decision, not the volunteers or SCs to go cashless and as many people expected, it is going pear shaped. Hopefully they will display a rare bit of customer service and show sense. I doubt it has gone "pear shaped". It's quicker, more secure and cheaper to be cashless, as has been done to death on other threads. It's a pity if some of the 50/50 seller's locations have poor 4G, but not sure you can blame the club for that.

Genuinely going to give up watching football if the dark arts continue to be this bad. Another gem from the Shrewsbury forum: “Shouldnt be surprised at Rovers being dirty, look what a thug they have as a manager. It's only to be expected”. Thick c*nt wasn’t even at the game. Sick of idiots constantly calling us dirty just because Barton is our manager, especially with the state of their own team. You can't have it both ways. Barton has that reputation, it's going to happen, and people lean into it. If some of our fans celebrate him as straight talking and tough, you have to accept when people focus on his violent past.

I like this story from Ricky Gervais: "I got in trouble talking about praying on Twitter. Remember a few years ago, that terrible disaster in Oklahoma, the hurricane? People lost their lives, their livelihood, and I donated to the Red Cross. I tweeted about it with a link saying, “You can donate here too,” trying to help them, and one of those frivolous entertainment magazines from America, their account tweeted this thing that annoyed me. They tweeted, “Beyoncé and Rihanna send prayers to Oklahoma.” And I tweeted back going, “I feel like a lady garden. I only sent money.” I wouldn't be taking my cues from Gervais, after all his transphobic stuff in his latest Netflix show.

Since I haven't been going to watch Rovers I've been going to Weston and loving it.
£12 to get in, it's quiet enough to take my daughter without worrying about being being squashed, I can have a couple of pints on the sidelines, and this season watch Ruben Reid take the water.
I had the chance to watch Everton vs Man U last season but it was £50+ - and I don't think I'd enjoy it 4.5 times more than standing behind the goal at Weston.
To each their own of course, and I get why kids play fifa and watch tiktoks of Mbappe etc and want to wear their shirts, but I know what kit I want my daughter to ask me for.

Yes but whoever you paid your £1.00 to then had to pay for it on his/her own card. So it was still cashless. This is one way us volunteers are trying to help people out. Cheers, Jamie. Look at the last World cup, Ashton Gate was on the national news, with packed bars and making tens of thousands. Rovers - well someone made the decision they just wouldn't bother!? (I think someone one here tried to defend them by saying the clubhouse bar was being refurbished - yeah 2 weeks after the tournament ended! - but what about the other bars! - even worse once they accepted the error, they arranged a bar with almost more staff than customers for the Nations cup thing and used that as justification not to run any events. The difference in facilities is probably the answer here - I was with you and thought it was an own goal for them not to show the games at the Mem, so they tried it and nobody was interested. Whereas down at BS3 their events made national news and it was hard not to look on enviously. Why would we try and compete before we had spent the money? I feel sorry for the SC volunteers. They are trying but nearly everyone knows that using cards for a £1 50/50 ticket is just plain stupid. I've never understood this argument. Why does it bother some people using their card for smaller amounts? At what point does it become acceptable? You'd buy a pint on your card but not a half? Seems weirdly arbitrary.

It would be good if the vlub did a "buy back" scheme on match tickets from season ticket holders who can not attend. The club could give vouchers worth 50% of a ticket value. Then resell that matches ticket. They literally have announced a scheme to sell your ST credit if you're unable to make it one game. Probably much less favourable terms than you suggest, however.

Many people just did not know it was cashless and many did not want to use a card for just £1. I don't understand this bit. Why would people (I respect it's not you with this opinion, just passing it on) be bothered how much is spent on a card? Not as if you have to pay a percentage fee. Also, we've all known for months it was going to be cashless - bizarre if one of the concessions briefly started taking cash. This club is hilarious sometimes 😅
