"There was no third-party evidence corroborating either side regarding this provocation."All a bit inconclusive then. The stewards have obviously justified their actions (with whatever the fan potentially said/did other than failing to hand over the inflatable) as I cant see anywhere that they were prosecuted for using unlawful force against the fan? "Despite the incident, before leaving the stadium the fan and the stewards shook hands."
Well pointed out Weezord. And please remember it doesn't matter what you think: If you're in the home end you shouldn't be there and stand every chance of being removed if spotted. So lets hope everyone behaves and the game goes without incident. The Grimsby fans might dispute how friendly the ending was, but I'll leave that to them if there are any reading this. It's a complete overreaction and far too heavy handed. Here is a blog post with an interesting post about whether excessive force was used toogoodtogodown.wordpress.com/2015/02/14/guest-blog-did-fgr-stewards-use-excessive-force-on-gtfc-fan/Quotes from the fan himself: ryan, who has followed Grimsby home and away since 1989, said: "I couldn't breathe - the headlock was full on.
"All I can remember is someone with their arm around my neck and everyone booing. I was shocked. I never expected anything like that.
"As we got out the ground my head was pushed against the wall where the turnstiles are. I wasn't struggling, I was just saying 'whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm all right.'
"At one point there were three stewards on top of me and I started to panic then. They calmed down a bit and they said the police were coming."
Bryan, a self-employed joiner, had travelled down to the match in Gloucestershire with the Grimsby Town away supporters club and had taken the ball inflatable down to inject some fun into the match.
He had previously taken the beach ball to a match in Lincoln and suffered no problems.
Bryan said: "I thought it would be good for the fans and the kids love it. I don't see why there was a problem.
"It wasn't going to hurt anyone. It's not a weapon of mass destruction.
"We just want fun in the game. Things like this put me off football.
After seeing Janelle, Bryan was then driven to the centre of Stroud, Gloucestershire, where he was kept until the match had finished.
Bryan hasn't yet decided whether to make an official complaint, but will not be returning to the ground again.
He said: "That's my first and only experience of the place.
"I know everyone is telling me to take it further but I'm not a person for hassle. The steward said I spat at him and went to head-butt him but I didn't.
"All they need to do is watch the CCTV. I just wouldn't give him my ball."

Refused to hand over his inflatable football Were you there then mate? Genuine question. Nope, but this was reported after.. Mr Winship, from Ulceby, had told the Grimsby Telegraph he took the inflatable ball to the match to inject a "bit of fun" into the game, and that he "couldn't breathe" as he was ejected.
A statement from Forest Green Rovers said: "The stewards' report states they asked the fan to deflate or handover the football because an inflatable could interfere with play if it got on to the pitch during the game and the fan refused.
"The stewards... made the decision to remove the fan from the ground.

Keep your phones at the ready if you're going to the game, given the number of away fans in the home ends and the expected lively atmosphere, these tossers should be accountable for any more of this...

Don't see any need to give priority tbh, especially with the tight timescales... Do wish these Wembley threads would stop coming up though! Asking for a jinxSorry mate, just trying to do some forward planning. I'll probably have to buy at least 6, don't see any disadvantage to waiting until the general sale. The problem with Wembley is the hospitality does a great job of splitting the stadium, so the top tier is too high. Went up there last time, not sure which I'd prefer this... Would love the view of the middle tier, but it would suck having empty seats around you for a game like that.

Crazy league, stadium won't even be full yet we sold out before the shop opened, some bought some in person and still FGR have to rip up 1000, and that's just the ones they found. Can't blame them for not giving us more, though.
Given the amount, odds are they have probably ripped up a couple of their own fans' tickets with mistaken identity and all, they wouldn't be happy.

One ticket per membership, what a joke I'm assuming that's meant to be sarcastic? How else could you possibly do it? One per season ticket, so those who are in several of the schemes can't go dishing them out to their friends

Here's a thought for you guys,as you can imagine things could go crazy tomorrow, especially if we scored a late winner and say Barnet were already loosing. I don't think the crowd could contain themselves and ultimately a huge pitch invasion would ensue. But could you imagine if the conference then cited us with a 3 point deduction!!!!!!! I genuinely believe I would suffer a bout of depression that not even the most vigorous poo tug could cure. I know it's over the top but it would be ironic. There will be a pitch invasion tomorow I guarantee it and if it does play out like the first part of my scenario, then you could possibly see even me swinging naked by my tonker, legs akimbo, by the crossbar in front of the Blackthorn end. Keep your eyes peeled. UTG!!!!! The last bit sounds like any night out in Merthyr to be honest Gas. My Mrs is from there so I should know. Hopefully if there is an invasion noone punches a horse or anything silly eh. Or goes to the Alfreton fans for any unpleasant reason. Absolutely no need for that, especially since they are likely going down, and we know how that feels.

The fact is, generally we don't lose, as one game in the last 28 shows. Unbeaten in 19 away. Fantastic stuff, and surely over two legs that would make us huge favourites.
The worrying thing maybe that our two home defeats came against the two of the clubs we could face in the semi finals. However, playoffs strangely usually go against what happened in the two games during the season, which makes me more worried about Grimsby in the final than FGR or Eastleigh before. I've had a feeling since the start of the season this is Grimsbys year, and something tells me it would be a repeat of Wembley 95 where the smaller but sizeable crowd from the North goes home smiling. They have certainly done their stretch down here...
Anyway, we will win the league tomorrow so it doesn't matter.

Dawson's exclusion at Dover was a complete mystery. What was DC thinking to not even have him as an option? It will probably cost us the title. To say that cost us the title is a bit OTT, we were 1-0 up with 2 mins left so I wouldn't say it was an attacking issue...

But that's most of the best defence in the Confernece gone and Mansell & Sinclair was hardly the best midfield pairing in the Conference before the latters injury? Anyway surely Brown signed a new 2 year contract last summer so why would he leave unless we were desperate to off load him? The big problem is the Sainsbury's case outcome/Wonga loan as if dealing with that cuts into the wage budget then the likes of Lockyer & Harrison may have to go? Because Brown is easily good enough for higher divisions, and I got the feeling last year that it was likely a "I'll give it a season" type of scenario, could be wrong... DC is very good at putting out organised teams, I would have faith in him bringing in a couple of defenders to give us a similar defensive record next year. Would Trotman really be that bad a replacement for Parkes? He was very good when he came in. We have a young team, and the likes of Taylor/Blisset/Harrison (if he stays) would be much better for their years experience, and providing they get the service, I would be confident in them getting more goals next year.

At least the players we would be losing are defenders, which are easier to replace than attacking players. Leadbitter has improved massively after replacing Smudge, for example.
Sinclair on a quarter of the wages of JJOT just shows what can be done without throwing stupid wages around. Mildys wage is 20% of the TV money lost, add in McCrystal and another and with our gates, there wouldn't be much excuse to cut back too much.
Puddy
Leadbitter - Lockyer - new - new
new - Mansell - Sinclair - Monkhouse
Taylor/Harrison/Blisset/Easter
And thats before new signings, really doesn't look too bad. I'd have full confidence in DC winning the league next year.
