Anyone got a home shirt from that year they want to release? Size small? I’ve been on the hunt for years as it was my first shirt but turns out you get bigger when you grow up!

myalbum.com/album/Q9vwJK3MHIdCThe finished stadium development. Roughly 18,000, with the view to expand the North Terrace, I originally started building it 2-tiered but ultimately didn't like the look of it. South stand only goes roughly 2 metres higher than the current. West Stand is actually lower. North Stand is bigger as is the East (obviously). One of the big things I did to also save space was move closer to the pitch. Currently the Mem has 4m roughly between the Blackthorn & the pitch. The West stand is even further due to the slope. Ended up putting a load of gates on the West stand as the path is only 3 metres wide, so it helps with queues. South stand is now the away end & due to space, is only accessible via the side. Actually the most I enjoyed building a stadium as a hobby. Looking forward to Wael's call Gassy, You currently have more vision for our club than the owners themselves. I don’t know how long that took you, but if you really, and I mean really had an intention, a desire as well as the resources to carry out such a plan, I bet a paid professional with all the costings could come up with that inside a week. It actually just goes to show that they have none of the above. A week?! I know the club are moving at a glacial pace (at best) but if you believe a professional team can design a brand new stadium complex in a week you are rather naive. There is a huge difference in playing with Sketchup or Lego and actually getting the job done correctly.

We have to face facts, we are a very poor team. We are unbalanced, we have no physical presence, the recruitment has been woeful, and we have a big squad of mediocre players, and this was all put together by DC. no one else to blame, even he will admit it. the only saving grace is that we have a few good youngsters coming through, although that is nothing to do with him and I doubt if they will get any games. the other thing is most of our squad have 1 or 2 years of contracts left. DC says he will change things, if they are not up to it then they will go, so how come Nicholls is still here? He talks tough, acts like a pussy cat I'm sure it was mentioned in the thread about the evening with Tommy Widdrington that most are out of contract next summer actually. But peddle a lie if it helps your cause...

Because that is the world we live in nowadays. People expect information and to be treated with respect. I don’t want every detail, but this has obviously been a cock up and it would come across better if the club admitted it in a professional manner. It’s managing the PR which we are abysmal at. What if the club had sold 300 season tickets in that stand (as originally planned) and yet it arrives at 197 capacity. How would that work or gloss over the issue that the season ticket holders have been told so it’s alright? Sorry but how on earth is the club not informing you about changes to their plans, which they are entitled to do by the way, a lack of respect? I assume you are a customer not a shareholder, and a customer who has not bought a ST in said stand where as I am a customer who had bought a ST in said stand and they have informed me. This seems to me to be appropriate and correct. If the club had sold 300 ST's for the stand then they may have had to come up with a different alternative plan but as it is they didn't. That is a hypothetical question that is not worthy of a more detailed response. The bottom line is that the club are entitled to do whatever they want with to their ground. Anything they do should be communicated to the appropriate stakeholders which in this case would be those affected by the change. The club appears to have done this so they have not acted improperly or unprofessionally in any way imo. You make valid points, and full disclosure I am not in that area myself. However, you only have to read the rest of this thread to see how this has affected a number of “stakeholders” who DO stand in that area and have been displaced by a new stand which has ended up in an area it wasn’t meant to be originally. These people didn’t get an email did they? But as long as you did... I’ve got nothing against the principle or the end productin regards this stand, as I keep saying it’s about the execution and the treatment of ALL fans in the process. Without a full scale development people want to come along for the ride and be involved with any progress. Good leadership would get people inside even if it admitted mistakes along the way.

Which is fine and makes sense with all previous media output on this stand. The question is, why are you saying it, and not the club? Throughout this process you have emailed and had responses from Tom Gorringe which you have relayed. That information should be put out to everyone. Weve put up with worse. Treat us with respect and tell us the truth. The same happened with the Butcombe bar last home game. They advertised the opening with a fanfare and kept it quiet that less that 100 people could get in due to fire safety. Honesty would have worked in that situation too. I can just about deal with us being crap, we always have been and it’s endearing, but don’t treat us like it! The club have said it, they've sent an email to all ST holders for that stand. Why do they have to relay every single detail of what's going on to you? Because that is the world we live in nowadays. People expect information and to be treated with respect. I don’t want every detail, but this has obviously been a cock up and it would come across better if the club admitted it in a professional manner. It’s managing the PR which we are abysmal at. Don't have a go at me smithy I am just a fan, I get fed up with the lack of communication so contact employees at the club that I know so I can let people know what is going on. Sometimes people don't believe me but hayho I try to do me best. Not having a go at you Werton, applauding you if anything for actually communicating the truth!

Originally the stand was meant to go along the full length of the flat area but the safety officer wasn't happy because although people serving in the pastie huts could get in to the huts there was little space left between the stand and hut for people to served safely. So stand had to be re-positioned over the open terrace. There was also meant to be a stand for away fans but they couldn't fit it into the area allocated ,so didn't bother with it in the end. Had to put a family stand in though because the S.T had already been sold. Basically a major cockup. Which is fine and makes sense with all previous media output on this stand. The question is, why are you saying it, and not the club? Throughout this process you have emailed and had responses from Tom Gorringe which you have relayed. I mean, it's not really how it works but grasp at those straws. They had five years to make the permission extant and didn't. They then had time to extend the permission but didn't.
If someone at UWE has reapplied (not live yet but can't be discounted) then that would confirm that the permission isn't extant.
If a new application is in, it won't be fast tracked either - however much everyone wants it, there is still a process to go through and things have changed since we last applied in 2012.

Its been gone over before, but this was a discharge of conditions application relating to the stadium. It is clearly stated in the last correspondence on the application that all of the work needed to be carried out and implemented for the two remaining conditions, before a deadline in January, for the permission to be extant. There is no other correspondence after that confirming the works took place or that the conditions were discharged. Therefore you have to assume this deadline wasn't met and the permission is not extant. except in exceptional circumstances ................ What exceptional circumstance would break planning law?

No. As I have already stated, any approach would be to the planning department and would be dealt within that department and most likely as a relatively closely guarded secret due to the sensitivity of the project. Planning Committee are a collection of councillors who only get involved in applications which are referred to them - large or contentious projects mostly. Why would they, or should they, be privy to an as yet designed scheme? Maybe because one or two of them a gasheads ? So am I. Being on the Planning Committee doesn't give you rights to know about every project going on in town. I could also ask some people and get an answer though. The truth is, we are debating a hypothetical project which may or may not be in the pipeline. However only one of us has insinuated they know more than they should. Which due to previous insinuation in regards planning matters, gets others on the forum excited for some reason. Each to their own though - I prefer to stick to what I know.

Well it does and it doesn't. It oversees development that goes to committee. Which a new stadium project undoubtedly would. But it doesn't go to committee until it has been through the planning process and therefore planning officers who are hired to do the actual job of overseeing development in Bristol. But what do I know?! It's only my line of work and I'm not ITK... So in your qualified opinion, do you think that committee would have heard of an approach from Bristol Rovers re the potential development of the mem ? No. As I have already stated, any approach would be to the planning department and would be dealt within that department and most likely as a relatively closely guarded secret due to the sensitivity of the project. Why would the committee have anything to do with the process? IF (big IF) anything is happening at that level, it would be being dealt with by the planning department, not councillors who sit on the committee. Carry on though... That committee overseas all development within Bristol and if you think they have no power then think back to the Sainsbury planning meeting that was on the internet.... guess who had the deciding vote for the committee...... Well it does and it doesn't. It oversees development that goes to committee. Which a new stadium project undoubtedly would. But it doesn't go to committee until it has been through the planning process and therefore planning officers who are hired to do the actual job of overseeing development in Bristol. I didn't know that. Couple of questions. Is there a train station there? And is this a local line or can you go onto say Birmingham without changing? Its connected to the old Henbury/Filton Line which starts life in Seven Beach i think and will be part of the "New" Henbury loop line going into Parkway and Temple Meads They are building a £6m Station at the Filton (Charlton Halt ? - Brab Hanger) and a £12m+ at Henbury Work has started at Ashley Down railway station to upgrade it as well The Biggest Hold up is to Filton Junction as they need to convert it to a 4 line junction from 2 at the moment en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henbury_Loop_LineExcept this isn't true is it? As the Henbury Loop was rejected and they are opening a spur line rather than an efficient loop which would link effectively to Parkway/BTM? Four tracking is also underway at Filton Junction and so shouldn't be holding up the local stations being built - although there most definitely is nothing happening at Ashley Down! Keep trying though...

Its common sense to put the arena slap bang next to the train station which can handle thousands of people in and out. Cardiff manage it with their arena and the millennium right in the centre. On a matchday the centre is buzzing with people spending money. Your point about public transport is EXACTLY why it shouldn't be built at Filton. People would have to drive clogging up the roads and not spending any money in the city. Let's not forget the infrastructure that would need to be put in place to make Filton viable. All the new roads that bring more cars and more pollution with them. Seriously, how many people would catch a train to go to the Arena in town? If you live in the Bristol area I don't think it will be that many. Most people will drive, as the public transport is useless/dirty/expensive/irregular. Building something in the middle of a city that will have thousands of people attending is just not practicable in this day and age when cheaper/greener sites are available. The new brand spanking Bristol Metrobus Route ends at Cribbs Causeway. It won't take much to just run that over to the Filton site. Access from the M4/M5 is easy via the A38, and throw in a train station nearby and it is a far more cost effective solution compared to Temple Meads! Not only that, but the Brabazon Hanger is one of Bristol's most iconic buildings and should be utilized/preserved. Converting it to an Arena would be a fine thing to do. I'd imagine plenty of people would. Or a bus, as plenty of those actually go to the centre of town, unlike the ass end of nowhere. People need to get out of the mindset of driving to everything. 12K people see a gig and drive to it... good luck getting out of that gert lovely car park at Filton afterwards. If in the centre of town, where incidentally all of the major arenas in the country are, people can drive and park in car parks within 10-15 minutes walk to TM, get a train, get a bus, walk etc. or even just have a pint afterwards and let the traffic die down. Maybe stay in a hotel for the night. All of this benefits Bristol and not a private investor. Even the venue will eventually pay into the coffers and not a private companies profit margins. Whoever was talking about brown envelopes and backhanders earlier in the thread, look at who used to work for BCC on the arena project and now works for YTL... Agreed with your last point Nobby, and if YTL want to preserve the Brab they can crack on, but there is no need to bribe the council into building non existent infrastructure for them to make it work.

of the 5 rovers shirts i own, 3 are from relegation seasons, & two from the conference. Spall roman glass, 92/93 are the best shirts home and away. Seconded for the Spall Roman glass home shirt. I think its just pure nostalgia of first home shirt as a nipper but is a beauty. On that note if anyone is selling one in a non fat bastard size I want one. I also always had a soft spot for the yellow 3rd kit we battered Reading 6-0 in.
