Jamal Campbell-Ryce. One of the only opposition players I’ve ever seen given a standing ovation from the whole ground. Think it was Orient and tore us to shreds.

Like I said puckle, if there was any intention of doing anything with the colony, I’m pretty sure the club would announce it, even more so now with the lack of football and good news stories that are surrounding everything at the moment. They wouldn’t leave it to the rumour mill of the ITK club to do it on gaschat. Trust me, I would love some sort of development like this, it would get me bouncing, but until the horses mouth says it’s happening, it isn’t happening. The mere fact he's slagging it off convinces me that it's true. If it wasn't he'd enjoy me being ummmm silly? I would say that Ken and SteveH told me this , but sadly I can't. Perhaps 1981 is worried after all the times he accused them of being the leaks and me laughing at the idea, he's now realised that it was never them. Ive never known anyone so bitter and twisted as 1981 in his attitude on here. Forums are for opinions, but obviously he has appointed himself as mouthpiece for the club, including the idea of slagging off a 76 year old lifelong gashead in the worst of bullying manners. Perhaps he is just a frustrated individual, but one things for sure, I don't give a toss about him or his opinions. As he really is a nobody, I will try my best just to blank him from now on, as he seems to be getting worse by the day. As as I say, if it follows through, it will be good news, hopefully to be backed up by even better news. Regardless of your little circlejerk with G81, which is frankly boring, his point is correct. IF the club were starting a training ground, I do think they would mention something through official channels. Why would they sneak something like this through the backdoor when it’s such a good news story in a sh**e time for everyone?

Problem is a stadium isn't going to build itself, Brighton and Hull got lucky with rich benefactors, Swansea the local council, we're really paying the price for either not being brave enough in the past to redevelop the Mem and Sainsbury's stitching us up over the UWE. Then Wael let SH & DC spend well beyond our means and we're now in a right mess. As far as Gasincider trying to suggest Hamer is squeaky clean, what planet is he living on? Perhaps when the likes of SteveK are whining on here about our lack of transfer activity every transfer window they need to think where signing wasters like Bennett has led us. The only hope is we survive CV and then MS can turn things around, perhaps we need to start supporting him rather than trying to slaughter him in here as he along with TG, who seems to doing a fantastic job, really are our last hope for survival. I didn't say anyone was squeaky clean. I pointed out the fact that Ken and SH were not involved in the financial aspects of the club since the board meeting of March 2019. As a regular talker out of your rear, try reading before commenting. As for the spending on players, that was ALWAYS Wael and DC. Nobody else had a say in it. Wael stated as much at an AGM. And these accounts are up until the end of March 2019? I presume your mates were still on the board and privy to all decisions at this point. As a regular talker out of your rear, do read carefully before commenting.

Did anyone have reservations or make condescending remarks when good old Graham bought in his mate Joe Dunne at about a similar time last year? The results may have been different but the process isn't - people like working with people they have worked with before, know and trust. Look back over the forum for the past month or so and people have been calling for Ben to get some help, he finally does, and now people are moaning because of who it is and coming up with conspiracy theories over what might happen should we win/lose/draw for the rest of the season. Peak Rovers Forum. What your forgetting is that there are different posters with different opinions. I have never posted that garner should get experienced help so your "peak rovers forum" crap is just that. I didn't quote you or aim the comment at you so why are you getting precious? Seeing as you've put yourself into it though, what's the difference between Ben getting "experienced help" and Graham getting "experienced help" in the form of Joe Dunne? Both the same in principle, both came in to help out a mate at the start of their first management role, both on an informal basis. Nobody was second guessing that appointment. The only difference is results.

It’s not BGs fault that GC f**ked off half way through a season and left us to pick up the pieces.
Plenty of whatifery on this thread but we will never know because the bloke who got us in a position to once again dream the impossible decided to jump ship so we are where we are.
IMO BG clearly wants, and has the remit, to change the team and philosophy and is currently caught in a difficult situation due to the position we found ourselves in. Trying to meld the two together isn’t working so he may as well go balls out and implement the way he wants to play - even if it means upsetting a few players/fans until it settles down.
This is the only way he can command the respect of the dressing room and make the club his own and we have to get on board now. If it doesn’t work, blame can be sent to the manager at Field Mill for not having the stones to see the job through, not the man with the thankless task of replacing him.

I just bought a 'Print at home' ticket for this for the first time. Do I actually have to print it or can I scan my phone? Scan on your phone works fine.

Just read thread, I've gone straight to the loft and found 6 90s shirts. Are they actually worth that much? I hAve 5 Spall including the green and yellow, the 91 shirts home and away with3rd div champions on it a Le Coq with elite hampers and home and away from 89/90 (I think) Regularly going for a good wedge on eBay if you wanted to get rid - especially the Spall shirts from early 90s.

Are you aware of any deadline a decision has to be made by whoever is buying the land? Are you aware HG is fishing again, but this time he's just dangling a number out there on the end of his well used ITK rod?!

This mass transit metro that the council are planning could also make the site more accessible. I know it’s in the early stages of planning and it’s likely to take 10-15 years to be completed if it even gets off the ground but how good would it be to catch a short train, directly to the stadium on a match day? I know such a project is unlikely, but we are talking about a new stadium for BRFC here. Apart from the fabled mass transit system, the chronically slow to get going Metrowest plans (Henbury Spur anyone?) do also include at some point in the future to reopen a station at St. Annes which wouldn't be a long walk to the ground.

You also don’t have to print your ticket if you buy in advance, you can just scan the ticket on your phone. It’s all rather easy as a process really...

I've not responded to this thread since the news broke because, well, there isn't really any news and I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said in terms of speculation. However due to occupational hazard I can certainly cast a bit of light on the area and what is happening. Most people know that this area is seen as a huge development brownfield site and that the centre is drifting Eastward towards BTM and beyond with the new Bristol University Campus being a major driver of this. They already have an application in for reserved matters on the old arena site for new student housing and their influence hasn't ended there. They have purchased land on the other side of the river nestled amongst applications for more student housing - see graphic below:
That graphic shows the extent of current sprawl towards the fruit market and is certainly not prescriptive. There is a recent refusal for a large development on the corner of Feeder Road and Short St leading directly to the FM site and plenty of other businesses along the way are looking to cash in on this redevelopment opportunity. What does this mean for Rovers and the Fruit Market? Who knows! I think it very likely we may have bid on the site and I think the site is certainly a viable one considering location. I also think for it to be casually dropped into an interview rather than to be formally released there is some sort of brinkmanship going on from Wael. I also think things may be a whole lot further than has been let on thus far, the only way of knowing only being given publicly by an announcement or an application (Pre App in private). One thing is for sure, if nothing comes of this then Wael has made an even bigger rod for his back by mentioning a site and I don't see why he would do so - he gets enough stick as it is!

I have one too, first Rovers shirt I owned. Is that still for sale in the shop? I presume you mean the mug, not the vintage shirt, I don't know. It was a gift and I am not sure where from.

I happen to still be a proud owner of said shirt, it is a stunner. In perfect condition also, one to hand down to my boy when he can fit into it (I certainly can’t) I don't remember that one at all! Awesome - get that bad boy out of storage and lets see a photo of it in its glory!

This mug is an awesome reference point for our kits throughout the years (now I've got the image working!) Anyone got any memory of the 1991-92 away shirt? Looks a beauty but I cannot find any other reference to it...

I’d be all for something along this line, although considering a rather basic new stadium eg Cardiff City Stadium which was completed 10 years ago cost £48 million, to build the same now you’d be talking closer to £60million for a new yet basic stadium. I can’t help but think crowdfunding wouldn’t work in our position, especially as the owners seem to want to remain firmly in control of any assets, new and old. Personally I’d love to see us re-visit the possibility of the fruit market site, this was a realistic option I’m told some years ago, this would help the council with their interest in extending the temple enterprise zone to this area of the city. I think the council see the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone as being full of thrusting creative media types who power nap and invent useless things, not a football stadium half full of fans moaning about sausage rolls. In a year or so it'll be a hybrid... full of students who nap and eat sausage rolls!
