Some cracking goals there and obviously a huge boost for the squad and Matthew Taylor. A little concerning that Aaron again decided a dive was worth a go After keeping the ball too long. Straight afterwards, Crewe scored a cracking goal of their own. Agreed - just get a shot away. It's no excuse for conceding straight afterwards, but the fact he goes down and appeals distracts for a moment other players and puts us straight on the back foot. I hope MT sits AC down and shows him all the incidents where he goes down too easily wasting good goal scoring opportunities and tells him to stay on his feet - he's good enough to do that and score 9 times out of 10.

Ah of course, knew I must be missing something. Strange to have dropped Jed off the bench but I suppose it's unlikely to matter. Jed has already played in the FA Cup - for Wealdstone

To be fair we don’t deserve to lose this game. We can see our weaknesses. Disagree - don't put chances away when on top and concede two goals from poor defending means we don't deserve to get anything

After Tuesday night there aren’t many names that leap out as a Must start. Hunt and Taylor, maybe Ward and Finley if available , Gordon did ok , after that I didn’t think anyone else did well. Cox by default as not really fair to throw Jed straight in.
Hunt - Taylor - Wilson - Gordon Finley Ward - Evans Thomas - Collins - Vale Collins at least gives us pace down the middle … I sense the upset is if we come away with our place in the draw for Round Three. JedWard can't play - already appeared in an earlier qualifying round for Wealdstone

Do you think anyone at the club has checked if JedWard had played for Wealdstone in a previous round? Just looked it up - yes he did play in Wealdstone's 4th round qualifying defeat at Bromley

Apologies if someone else has already posted this - but there is more than a hint of offside for both our and Whitby's first goals.

Some decent quality in their team based on the post by Pirate above. Hope we don't underestimate them - Horsham play at the same level I think (7th tier) and got a 3-3 at Barnsley last night. I'm sure AM will not let any complacency creep in - hoping for a 3 or 4 nil win

FA Cup 1992 v Liverpool when a blatant penalty for a foul on Mehew wasn't given, and Dean Saunders should have been sent off for elbowing Alexander.
Regarding the incident that has prompted all the debate this week - the Premier League should learn from Rugby where the Referee clearly states the on-field decision to the TV Reviewers and askes them to check whether that decision is to be upheld or reversed. The Football VAR system doesn't have any of those positively worded processes it seems to me.

Put the bus back on axle stands Rich. All the talk of putting 5 past someone soon is a pipe dream - I doubt we'll see five home goals scored by Christmas at this rate

Many of the comments here echo my sentiments too. I've been in since the beginning and will support the FFSC for as long as it exists, but I'm also very happy to be fully behind Hugo's suggestion of a famous last stand. Thanks Jon, Hugo, Parrot for all the hard work that is needed to produce such a perfectly executed shambles every year I'll be joining again this time.

It’s not threewords, it’s moving us forwards. What three words? 'moving rovers forwards' - in east Ethiopia, or 'Rovers squad promotion' - in Northern Quebec. This could be fun?

Thanks Harold My concern about train all the way is getting home back to near the south coast - especially with the amount of added time we are now going to be seeing. Might look at driving to Three Bridges or similar where there is parking and a return train is likely to be OK until quite late.
Edit - is the game definitely pay on the day?

My daughter is over from Australia with her partner/boyfriend for a couple of weeks and I was thinking of taking them to the Charlton game as we can't make the home match this weekend. They have manged to blag a couple of tickets for West Ham v Chelsea from our local pub landlord where my daughter used to work, but I'd like them to see some real football too! I've not been to Charlton before so was wondering whether anyone can advise on parking near the ground, or maybe parking and then using the rail network for a couple of stops? If we do go we would be travelling up from West Sussex on the day. Thanks

Nigeria all over us 😟 Watching on the iPad here in France and annoyingly the commentary is about 2 secs in front of the pictures 😂 It's the same on the BBC1 coverage! Commentary saying 'she hits the bar' and the player hasn't taken the shot yet!

I saw the Stewart interview - it was as the OP says mainly about his visit to the SoL to promote his work on MND. The BBC did show a picture of him in Rovers kit but with the standard of BBC 'Researchers' now they probably thought it was Ipswich!

Azza should have scored there. Good work from Brown to win ball back and slip AC through. Straight at keeper through on goal. Friend is gonna be the new Tilly’s Thighs I think for those that appreciate that sort of thing! George's Groin has a certain ring to it. (lock me up and throw away the key) Friend's Femurs?

The tweet did not imply the government are as bad as Nazi Germany. The press seem to somehow be trying to say that but it is simply not true. Linekar said the language was similar to 1930's Germany. Which is objectively FACT. Using words like "invasion" and "swarm" is undoubtedly similar to the propaganda used in the 30's. Any mental gymnastics to claim he was comparing the government to Nazis is simply not true. And any suggestion he was disrespecting the Holocaust is also absolute nonsense. Most historians would agree that atrocity was a decade later! I think the whole point is that some of this language sets us on a dangerous path. I can't see anything Linekar said was even untrue whichever side of the political spectrum you sit on. Lineker is clever and cute enough to know that whilst his words were carefully chosen, the implication of those words would be taken to infer the connection. He has set a massive and disruptive hare running with this and he shouldn't have - IMHO. That's all I'm going to say on this now - we all know it divides opinion and no-one is likely to change their opinion based on an exchange on here. UTG - Looking forward to three points today.

I'm not going to disagree regarding the issue and difficult climate we and the World faces post Covid, the war in Ukraine, climate disasters becoming more prevalent, etc etc, but we'll have to agree to disagree Hugo regarding the tweet - I don't believe it was appropriate.
