Schoolgirl defending once again... The English Schoolgirls Football Association will take exception to that remark as they are not that bad

JCH booked - we can't afford him to get sent off and be missing for Tuesday

As others have pointed out Craig can't organise the defence in a back 4 - he has to be one of a central 3. If Davies isn't fit, then Rollin has to play on Tuesday

Where has that defensive effort and solidity gone?? Desperate times. Lose on Tuesday and we really will be in free fall

FFS - Akinfenwa never used to get a look in against us - we really are an absolute soft touch now.

Looks like 4-3-3 if we attack 4-5-1 without the ball. 4-5-1 most of the time then!

I've just realise that there is a game missing from the list - Peterborough Away between the Ipswich and Rochdale games. Makes no difference to my guess at 13 for the total number of points though as I can't see us getting anything there.

Very strange that most people think we'll struggle to see 50+ points considering we were 4th at Christmas, yet most people are also behind Garner? It's just a sense of realism. Most people want Garner to succeed, but at the same time most can see that we are struggling to identify where the next win is coming from. If the number of points gained since BG arrived is replicated over the rest of the season then we will struggle to get to 44/45 points. Most, me included, think we will get 11 to 15 points which must include wins over Tranmere and Southend so that BG then has the Summer to get the players he needs for his style of football to really work.

Wycombe A Draw 1p
Tranmere A Win 3p
Blackpool H Draw 1p
Sunderland A Lose
Shrewsbury H Win 3p
Southend A Win 3p
Sunderland H Lose
Ipswich H Lose
Rochdale H Draw 1p
Portsmouth A Lose
Oxford A Lose
Burton H Lose
Accrington A Lose
Lincoln H Draw 1p
Gillingham A Lose
13 points with an atrociously poor 2 from the last 9 games - means the next six with wins against Tranmere and Southend vital in that sequence for our survival.

...and February....? We've already lost v Coventry so the next 5 in the rest of February are:
Wycombe Away Tranmere Away Blackpool Home Sunderland Away Shrewsbury Home
I hope for Draw, Win*, Draw, Lose**, Win as BG gets the team and the new boys playing his way. * It's a must win game at Tranmere as we slide that way in the table. ** I've said lose at Sunderland, which is most likely, but I was at Fratton on Saturday with my Sunderland supporting pal, and Sunderland were woeful against free kicks and corners - if we can stop them playing it on the deck and get the big fella's up for the set pieces as Pompey did, then we might have a chance.

Oh well so much for the gloom and doom theorists re GC leaving as purse strings pulled tight and not being able to take the club any further. Great window that shows there is investment and a vision on the playing side by the board and we are not being left to rot and die
For me that makes the timing of GC's 'change of heart' even more galling as I could understand it more if he was told he would need to see better players to bring more in etc. Obviously that is not the case, unless Wael wanted him out and used that to give him a push?
He is a bigger wan*er that I though for not giving it another 5 months at least. Not much to ask considering he has spent over a decade in the south..
I'm wondering now, as things pan out, whether GC's 'vision' wasn't shared by Wael, TW, the Board etc etc. GC said he couldn't see where to take the club or words to that effect - it could be that his vison didn't fit with that of the owners, or that he genuinely had no vision. If BG was 'hovering' in the background as it seems with him being a free agent and the mutual interest between him and the club existed perhaps GC's exit was seen as a way to achieve what everyone wanted. Of course BG's reign has got off to a very poor start - with the family illness and him trying to change things too quickly (even though he said he wouldn't). Perhaps now, and I really hope, he can start to change us for the better. Of course it would have been good to do that from here with 6 or 7 more points on the board, but I am certainly feeling much more optimistic today.

I think, loans are still possible aren’t they? Plus a per deal could be done if the “selling” club release the player and he becomes a free agent. Might be wrong. I still feel there is some movement in this squad to come. No loans* allowed now. The only players that can be signed are free agents - and I think they had to be free agents before the window closed (although I could be wrong on that point). *Edit - apart from emergency goalkeeper loans I think

So Tom is gone. Amazed he lasted 2 and half years - out did Luke James. What was your favourite goal of his in a Gas shirt ? Mine was .................................................................... I'll have to think about that. ...the winner at Ipswich. It could prove to be the goal that either keeps us up, or if things improve with the new signings, gets us into the play offs
