This Sunderland team are a bunch of woman, moan at everything, if 2 of their players were on the floor they would be crying to the ref. I have lost alot of respect for them after this. We were the better team until Agogo was sent off. They are lucky end of Ogogo

Craig has had a howler! Has to be his last season 35 soon and can’t play in back 4 four That's why many of us wanted to see a back 5 today, although could have surrendered other areas of the pitch of course

This could get embarrassing and nasty. Just hope our players keep their heads. We can't afford any more sendings offs, or Upson to get another yellow

Commentary calling the Sunderland player (Maguire) a disgrace for getting Agogo sent off. Can anyone confirm or deny it was a soft one? Ogogo

Maybe we can appeal it but they rarely get overturned They do, but it does risk an increased penalty if deemed frivolous. If it was just shoulder to shoulder then Maguire is a disgrace and really should be penalised for simulation - but we all know that won't happen

Oh dear - he was on 9 yellows anyway. Not sure how that works for suspension? Straight red is a 3 match ban isn’t it? Yes for violent conduct, so I imagine that leaves the 9 yellows hanging over him when he comes back. Was it a bit harsh and so could be appealed?

Presumably the Ref was better positioned than the camera and saw a touch on the ball by Leahy.

Good Half. Now BG - don't wreck it with your half time talk!

I’d give my left nut for Rovers to be 2-0 down in championship. If we ever get there again, I expect we will be, frequently.

Not sure what you mean? I'm just saying that for this game, at their place, with their fast wingers, a back 5 imho would be better. it suggests you want us to have loads of players at the back - so a focus on keeping them out rather than taking the game to them. Sunderland are no doubt a string team but they haven't been setting the league alight. We won our last game so hopefully the manager is thinking lets play to win and not to contain. Think in all likelihood we are going to lose but we can at least give it a go from the start - it might knock Sunderland off-guard. Fair enough - hope you are right UTG

Worried about Rollin at right back. He’s looked vulnerable there and turns like the titanic. Could get destroyed by Gooch/ONien/Hume Still think a back 5 would have been better

So is that a back 4 with Alfie or Rollin at full back? I really hoped we would go for a back 5 today

As I understand it, Sunderland have improved after changing to five at the back, or at least getting that formation to work well for them. As I have said in other threads, I think we have to revert to a central defensive three/ back five today to ensure we are solid.
The game will be a good test of BG's tactics and the players. In some ways it will be a marker as Sunderland are not a typical big bruising League 1 team. Physically they are not that big so if our new way is going to work against one of the top teams in the division - maybe it's today. We will have to work very hard to match them and perhaps we will have chances from free kicks and corners if Sunderland defend them as poorly as they did v Pompey a few weeks back.
