Both bristol clubs relegated that season from what I recall, sadly we finished bottom, not a good year, just a pity they never folded completely. That was the 1980-81 season we were bottom of Div 2 , those across the river one place above. 1981-82 they went down again to Div 4, and went bust Edit - Darkblue posted whilst I was typing (slowly)

One player, a defender, on a free, I've never heard of them and they look rather poor to me.

Maidstone United keeper anyone? He's made three or four great saves v Ipswich in the first 12 minutes No thanks mate. Need players to help us move out of the league not non league players. If he has a good season then maybe but not just an odd 12 minutes of a game. Yes it was slightly tongue in cheek, but surely we should be looking at non league gems like this - otherwise we may never have signed the great Nigel Martyn on the basis of playing well for 20 minutes in front of our tea lady!

Relegation battle beckons unless by some miracle we can find a proper centre half, a good goalkeeper a creative midfield controller and a centre forward that can score. We are looking in deep trouble

He’s league two at best. No composure, lacking pace and doesn’t read the game. Other than that... At least he's trying. ..and to be fair to the lad he was sent on loan to develop, brought back and thrown in without anyone any good beside, behind or in front of him

Lots of empty spaces in the terraces. Late switchers to the South Stand with the £10 offer?

If you can't take your chances, this is what happens. coupled with always conceding at least one goal from poor defending

Great result - why were our players questioning the Ref at the final whistle?

A few days rest and we go again. top 10 and a bit of a cup run, building for next season would be a good year imho. Getting some money in from a cup run will certainly help. Not a glam tie and Norwich big favourites, but if we give it a go - no reason we cant get through. Wont be a Wycombe style test for sure! With that in mind, and the injuries we have. I'd go for a 4-2-3-1 Ward (we brought him back, he needs a game or two, why not in the cup?)Hoole Taylor Crama Vale Ward Finley Thomas McCormick Brown Marquis (little rest for Azza and Evans and give Brown another chance he needs to grab hold of. McCormick could fit very well into the MT team ethos) Jed Ward can't play - he's already appeared for Wealdstone in a qualifying round, possibly two rounds

4-1 Wycombe to expose our weaknesses and have a field day. Impressive - even reversed the score line to reflect being away! It has to work again.... UTG

Looks like Locks badly hurt for Luton. Hope he’s OK. According to the BBC Final Score people he has collapsed off the ball, as he did before. Hoping he makes a full recovery but I fear it might be career ending this time
