We will know who to thank then when nobody can get promoted anymore because Chelsea reserves win the league every year. They will if i go or not go. Money Talks and they got plenty of rusky oil money to burn To be fair the subject has been argued to death but I still find it disappointing that some fans insist on supporting this competition. Don't really see the point in just being compliant and letting it happen.

A total boycott is required , talk with your feet , problem is many fans will still turn up ! I went last year and will be going this year to support DC & the team, We will know who to thank then when nobody can get promoted anymore because Chelsea reserves win the league every year.

so we have to go through the boycotting saga again, just goes to show how money controls football and what the fans want is irrelevant to the authoritys. coventry and oxford should be ashamed.

Owners must love being able to pull the 'FFP' card. I haven't ever bothered reading the small print of the 'rule', but is it even enforced to any significant degree? Are we the only club trying to abide by it!? it is enforced but any owner or chairman can give their club money as a gift which counts as income, it how alot of clubs get around it. they run up debts but the chairman just writes it all off . it what landsdown does with city. not a very sustainable way to run a club though.

not a bad return goals wise to be fair. You think 18 league goals over a season in total is a fair return for 4 strikers? The four (alleged) strikers - Gaffney - Harrison - Easter & James, with four of those goals coming in one match v Northampton. The original post wasn't well worded (my dyslexia and English grammar) should not have included "after MT". we can take luke james out the equation given he didn't score a single goal, 18 goals isn't bad from 3 strikers put that with taylors goals and you have a pretty decent return .

we had six. harrison, gaffney, taylor, easter, james, lucas Yeah - you're right - but Lucas was on non league loan all season and was never considered as 1st team material and James was only brought in because MT was expecting to move on. If MT was under contract it was highly unlikely that James would have been brought in. The four remaining after MT left contributed between them circa 18 league goals between them. not a bad return goals wise to be fair.

Not sure what point you're trying to make, it sounds like Gaffney will probably sign his contract so what signs are they that he's "uncomfortable", perhaps he just feels he can get a better deal out of DC than JC as he's a striker we paid £50K+ for not just a defender we got on a free, who's probably over the moon he got any contract offer from us. I think Gaffney should be over the moon frankly that he's been offered anything. Whether we payed £50k or not doesn't make a blind bit of difference - we didn't pay a bean for BB or DL or CL so that argument doesn't stack up. I did say "maybe suggests" - I don't know more than anyone else but there will additional two strikers extra on the books now that MT has left - both were not regulars last season whilst MT was here. We had three strikers at the start of last season (I think) - he's looking to bring three new in - doesn't that suggest something? we had six. harrison, gaffney, taylor, easter, james, lucas

Didn't Accrington's windass sign pre contract with rangers in January last year . Six months before his contract was up. That's classed as an "international" transfer so different rules apply, perhaps National league contracts finish when the season ends, or Dover just agreed he could leave a month early. I wonder if we offered were the club rumoured to have offered the £250K as what other club as that type of money for a striker in Div 1, given that we apparently were interested in signing him in January? Although saying he's going to win the Golden Boot is nonsense given he struggled prevously even at Div 1 level and is co striker from last season hardly kept up his goals scroed ratio. I'm not to gutted we missed out on him , think there's better options out there for that money.

Perhaps we should buy good ones then. Aye! I don't recall our record with English players being very good when we signed the likes of Riordan, Clarkson and Kenneth. All signed by mr magoo , enough said.

A long summer ahead, and potentially a long wait for any news on anything. So while we sit twiddling, here are a few questions for the stattos. Feel free to add your own. 1) Who was the tallest player ever to wear the quarters? 2) What was the highest-ever attendance at Twerton? 3) Where is the most distant stadium from Bristol at which we have ever played? I suppose friendlies can be included, but League or Cup (of some kind) would be better. 1 Stuart Sinclair 2 Stuart Sinclair 3 Stuart Sinclair

From what ive heard the lack of spending has been more down to Darrel Clarke than wael . He doesn't like spending what he feels is over the odds.

I know I am the eternal optimist but how much of a serious reasonable chance did Luke James have with us last season? How many consecutive games did he start and stay on the pitch for the majority of the match? And also in a situation where he could grow with the squad in a non pressurised situation? (e.g. At the start of the season when the pressure is less) I remember at least 2 of our prolific strikers of past going 10 and 16 games starting and staying on the pitch for at least 70mins not scoring and both ended up top scorers for us in seasons. Also a number of strikers in the game have moved clubs, had a crap first season but then gone on to be prolific the following.... A lot of LJs game is really positive - it's just his goal return that has been poor this season. (Can't comment on previous as for other clubs a lot of appearances were as sub or out of position on the wing)..... Dont get me wrong, I don't think he's a shoe in first choice striker but I do believe he'd be a good squad striker who if played alongside the right complimentary partner would score goals..... Tin hat on!..... Mate it's been 30 odd appearances and his only shot on target I can remember was a missed pen . If I played for rovers I would run my nuts off and do f**k all but nobody wants to sign me this summer.
